Well, im only scheduled for 8 hours a day, but overtime is quite common.

I work in a Iron Foundry, i hate the job.
Isn't it federal law they can't force work past 40 hours?

I currently work 3x12.5 paid 40. Fri-Sun. Wouldn't have it any other way. When I get off, I still have enough time to go hang out for a while and still get a decent night of sleep.

During my week off I work at two other part time jobs. Both of which are only when I feel I have time to work and aren't really mandatory hours. I try to put in another 20hrs at these jobs during the week, but sometimes I just don't work at all.

i'd like the 4x10 as well.

my company is interesting in that they do their time schedules or sheets in 80 hour blocks.

so some people actually do 8 hours a day for 10 days.

some do 9 days and work 9 hours a day (minus one day where you work 8) and you get every other Friday off.

when you travel, it's almost expected that you will be working 4x10.

I'd like to have the 4 days a week, 10 hours per day. But as it stands right now 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.

I do 5x8 but might consider something else if I had the work. It's too slow for me to do anything else otherwise I might do 4*10. I could not do anything more due to it being considered overtime.

What kind of work are you doing at these jobs?

My wife works 3 x 12~14 hrs. per day at the hospital. She has so much free time off it's sickening.

I'm jealous. I'd do 3x13 in an instant!

Right now it's summer, so my grad students do most of the work. I just come in to hang with them maybe 2 hours a day. I had a grant proposal, about 2 weeks ago, that had me spending about 4 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the office. Now that is over, so I'm back to ~2hours a day, 5 days a week. I'm thinking about going on vacation for 2 weeks, then starting to create my syllabus and lesson plan. Now, October-December, and March-May, I spend about 30 hours a week on campus spread over 7 days, and about 30 hours a week at my home office.

LOL so naive... I used to work 5 days a week, 12 hours a day. It sucked. Anyway, 3x13 would be nice!

I used to be 2x4@$6.75. WORST JOB EVER.
Before that (same place), I was 7x6 (with a few 5 hour days thrown in there) at the same rate. Wasn't as bad, but still pretty ******.

Now, I'm on flex hours, with my only set times being Tues for 4 hours, and Saturday for 5, but I can show up whenever else I want so long as I do something productive. THAT'S hot.
