I've been on AT for about a month I would reckon, so I"m still a relative newbie. One thing I have noticed, is that the most active posters on this board, like the ones that post 10+ times a day, seem to be almost all conservative. So I'm curious to see the breakdown of various party supporters. Hope it ain't a repost?

People in the know (tend to be better off in life) don't like the government spending their money. One exception are the wacked out Hollywood types (except for Arnold).

You need to include Independants.

My family is very wealthy and we get taxed up the arse. So we have created "charities" to help and done a lot of other stuff to decrease our taxes. But guess what, we still get taxed like crazy, but in the end we dont' mind it if we feel it is helping others less fortunate. Our political support is not driven by what makes our wallets fatter, we care more about what we think is best for the world. (even though my dad is kinda republican, i have successfully convinced him to vote otherwise )

Why are people better off in life "in the know"? It's not like you're blessed with some secret to how society works just because you were successful.

Yeah...that sounds legitimate...

I'm a democrat, but I'm not like a hardcore democrat, I do share some republican beliefs as well.

hehe. well, it actually is. You see, even though we do get to dip into it a bit...

most of it actually does go for a good cause. We can't get around that. The IRS keeps a very close watch on charities now, believe me. Off the record, we have to maintain about 25k in it a year, out of which 20k really goes to helping people. We have two set up like this. So it does help actually.

I agree with both Democrats and Republicans. I'm not a supporter of one specific party. I'd have to say that I'm more Democrat than Republican.

My mom always votes Republican, regardless of who the candidate is and what he/she stands for. Stupid people!

Well take into account that this forum is majority white and not poor, yeah it goes along with the Republicans.

And no, you're NOT poor. Seeing as you own a computer and pay for internet access, that does not constitute for poor in my book.

I'm just stating the facts here, nothing more. Im a Republican.

We all believe in having the government helping others, just a matter of to what extent and how.

Yeah, there was no f'ing way I could vote for Bill Simon here in cali. That guy is dolt. I was either gonna write in Arnold or Riordan but I just ended up voting Libertarian. I fully support the Republican Party except on abortion, which I like.

If you want to be responsible for your own success and you agree that the goverment should stay out of your life a much as possible then the Republican party is for you

If you think your success is based on what new benefit the goverment is willing to give you and you blame everyone except yourself for your own mistakes then the Democrats are the way to go.

I love it when I hear Bush bashers crying about how they were either laid off or took a pay cut in the last two years and they hold Bush responsible. It's pretty sad that people really believe a president has that much control over there life.

There probably are more non - Anglo Democrats than there are like Republicans, but i honestly think that the difference isn't much. I know tons of democrats who are white... of course they dont live in Texas like I do.

Greens...but I don't really think they're that great either...they're amateurs. The Republicrats have got to go...we need an organized, populist third party to become viable.

I do not belong to a party, nor will I ever belong to a party. I will vote republican before I ever vote for a socialist (dems)...

I've been all kinds of different extremes. It's amazing what hormones will do to your train of thought. I've tried being Green Party, but I just can't handle the people that are members of it. I've found them more pompous and full of themselves than any other group. I'm Independant, but I lean more towards Libertarian. I've only voted once, and I voted mostly Republican, with one Democrat. Libertarian candidates just steal elections away from the Republicans, which I usually agree with more than Democrats.

Edit: Oh, I should mention DaveS, do you remember when I posted about that Seaman coming to graduation in his Navy whites? The School Board officials who reprimanded him, got their asses handed to them in the elections here. I thought more about it, and I agree with you. Those guys were *way* out of line.

II don't vote for a single party. In this past election my vote for Gov was diff than my vote for local reps. I always try to figure out the individual candidates.
