Californians

and the thing is. . . their weather IS NOT that great overall.
Yeah it is, especially compared tio New England and New York.
nah, been in both places. i'd rather have 4 seasons than one.
Yeah there's nothing like 3 months of freezing weather, 3 months of rain, 3 months of humid sweltering heat and 3 months of mild weather.
where?
New England. We;re getting torrential downpours and we are going to get rain fro the next two weeks where as Californians have been outside in their shorts BBQ'ing for the last 2 1/2 months.

But you have to admit if you get that much rain in California then half the state is sliding down hillsides into the Pacific.
LOL, that's bullsh!t. The problem is that some homes are built on unstable sides of hills and mountains.

I know but you have to admit that gets a lot of coverage here in the east when it happens. The little time I have spent in California I would have to say it actually is a great climate. If you like winter you can live up in the mountains and still be within driving distance of the warm stuff as well.

I would have to agree in siding with Texans being the most Proud of their home state. After all, who names their sports teams after the state. The Houston Texans??? C'mon.

In defense of NY and CA, these are the states people around the world think of when they think of The USA. NYC and LA are the hearts of their respective coasts. Having never actually lived in NYC, I can't vouch for living there, but they are damn proud of what they have. My roommate is NY'er and I I know he misses it...but we live in LA, and he says, if he isn't living in NYC, LA/So Cal is the only other place to be. Sure we have the worst traffic in the country, and some of the most pretentious people in the world...but that is the price one pays for living in one of the world's greatest cities, i.e. London, Paris, Madrid, NYC, Chicago.

Our women may pay for their looks, but it's well worth it. Our night life is the best on the West Coast, given, the NYC and Chicago nightlife's are better due to later bar curfews...we have afterhour parties that are unparalleled. We also don't have to deal with snow...excessive rain. We can surf, work on our tans, walk our dogs in summer clothes...All year long. That is tough to beat. People who live here, almost never get over leaving. My sister left LA after 36 years to live with her husband in Chicago, and she loves the city, but it isn't her home. Even after 8 years.

Let's not forget the Lakers...had to plug that one.

I am sure I won't hear the end of this!

it's not raining for the next two weeks here, and my mother just got back from a 3 wk stay in San Diego last Wednesday. she said it was not BBQ weather there. it was chilly.

all i am trying to say is California is not the nirvana of weather it is purported to be.
