Like someone said on a TV show the other day - the human body is the perfect canvas. Why not decorate it?
Whites first learned about tattooing from Polynesian islands - do you know why they do it there? Because they believe that when you die you lose everything - the only thing that you can take with you from this life is the decorations of your body. Not only is it decoration, but it is also a test, a ritual for you. In most tribes it was not only decoration - it was a status marker. It shows bravery, or in other cultures it is a ritual helping you pass from childhood into adulthood.
Nowadays it may not be done for those reasons, but what is wrong with decorating your body? You have nothing against putting rings in ears (especially for women), why not stick them somewhere else? It's not really any different! So many parents take their kids to Claire's at the mall and have their ears pierced, mine did. Piercing guns actually do more damage than professional piercers.
I just love it how everybody asks me what I'm gonna do about them when I'm old. My tattoos are in places that people normally don't see anyways. So when I'm 80 only Napalm and I will be able to see them. If I really don't want them anymore I'm sure by then they'll have developed some sort of technology to remove them easily.
There's my little rant for the day
