I think that the Antec SX-1030 is an excellent case. After all that's what I use so it has to be good, right?

The best ATX mid-tower cases, bar none, are the Coolermaster ATC-201 case & the Lian-Li series of mid-tower cases.

Both the Lian-li & Coolermaster cases are made of Aluminimium alloy & have active cooling of the hard drive mounts.

Click here for a reveiw of the Lian-Li case

Click here for Apu's reveiw of the Coolermaster, here for GamePC's reveiw, & here for Hexus.net's reveiw..

Mind you both cases are a bit on the expensive side (more than a bit, actually), but then cases are about the only peice of computer hardware that don't devalue like Weimar Republic Marks do. So in somewaysv it makes more sense investing in a good case from the very beginning.

My expectations were MORE than satisfied when I finally received my SX1030 from Onvia. I love this case and would be hard pressed to buy another unless I was able to actually work with another brand before I bought it.

Honestly Stallion, I did not really know the two companies had anyhting to do with each other! I know this Addtronics case ROCKS...It is a server case but will accept ATX & WTX mobos and has more than enough cooling for any O/C job.

Addtronics Case

Yup, wonders never cease, I did visit their site and I must say...they sure look like Super Micros to me!

I would still buy Super Micro though!

What is all this, "the best case, bar none" crap?
The best ATX cases are

Addtronics 6896a, 7896a
Chenbro Genie
Lite-on FS020

Maybe the Lian-li and cooler masters but the aluminum is all hype.

I recently bought one of these cases (Superpower KS-299xp) from crazypc.com after seeing it in a local store who happened to be out of stock on the item. I bought the case with an Enermax EG351P-VE(FC) 330 watt power supply. In addition to the fans in the power supply and at the front of the case, I added an "Evercool" 80mm rear exhaust fan that I pulled from my parts pile.

Noisewise, the case is perhaps a tad quieter than average due to the heavy plastic side panels -- but the difference isn't great. The construction quality is high, and the case is quite heavy.

I have an AMD Duron 750@900 (1.775v) on an Epox 8KTA3 with a cheap, relatively low-powered "AVC" heatsink. I suspect that this is a "hotter" combo than the P3-550 that Anand used while reviewing the case.

I haven't seen the 39C (102F) case temperatures that Anand mentioned. The highest I've seen so far is 32C (~89F), with an ambient temperature of about 74F. But I've only had the case for a week.

The cooling is definitely more than adequate for my needs. It'll be even better when I replace the cheap heatsink, although that's not really related to the case performance.

<< If you're talking build quality, Super Micro is the Mercedes of all cases bar none >>

Then my Chenbro Genie would be something like............Bentley !

Wingnut, when I bought my Addtronics a friend told me about his Supermicro and how there are the same so that is how I knew about it. I bought mine because PC Gamer used one when they did a PC build up a while back and if you look in the Hard Stuff section of PC Gamer they used to recommend Addtronics for all their systems.

Coincidence ,I think not.
