It was sad to see Julia go but she can't ride on her looks forever. I think Simon protects Carmen because that was his wildcard pick. I can recall Carmen singing and she sang so-so. Simon was all over her on how great she sounded.

I'm gonna say Julia gets voted off now that it's a day after the episode aired.

Assuming things keep going like they are it's definitely going to come down to Clay, Ruben and <insert name here>. Being a fellow Birmingham resident (aka 205'er) I gotta pull for Ruben. The women are definitely lagging behind. Kimberly Locke and Trenyce will have fantastic shows every now and then, but none of the women have been as good or consistent as some of the guys.

My only comment:

Can they drag the selection show out any longer? They should at least get a good two-and-a-half hours out of it. Hell, they could make the selection show a three part mini-series to follow the performance show every week.


I was happily watching a recorded Rurouni Kenshin when my wife asked me to turn to the American Idol I was recording for her. I was only able to fast forward through the first 15 minutes of the show during bad bits and commercials. Now my wife agrees that we should let the UltimateTV record the selection show at least 2/3rds of the way through before watching it.

I didn't watch at all last season either.

I don't know who beat out Clay originally. If he was in the first round, it was Charles and Kimberley Locke (correct me if I'm wrong). I think it was maybe the round with Julia DeMato.

I really hope Clay takes it all. He has a really great voice!
