<< Instead of paying $4.99, I switched it to $2.99.

I didn't steal the item, just made it a bit cheaper.
>>

BWAHAHAHHA OMG That's so sad man. You couldn't pay an extra 3 bucks? Goddamn that's cheap - I feel bad for you

I think next time I'm overcharged in the store, I'll go for a fraud charge for misrepresentation of pricing through false advertisement. It would be interesting to show how I went through the checkout line about a hundred times on different days and was continually overcharged each time.

Why not just correct the cashier....

Stores (especially grocery stores) steal from all of us everyday! I get ripped off at the register at the grocery store all the time. When I question my receipt, I get crappy service. Can I press charges? Probably not. Who knows how many people NEVER look at their receipts and get taken for what probably amounts to be hundreds of dollars over a lifetime.

I have no sympathy for retailers.
If you can get away with it, good for you. If you get caught, shame on you!

I would NEVER screw over an individual. NEVER. But when it comes to corporations and the government, I will take every opportunity!

You saved $2, besides, how does that affect the price when they ring it up at the counter?

Corporations are owned by people. They are not faceless. Many of the huge corporations you go to are actually franchises and owned by local people.

Folks, theft costs ALL of us. Any time a thief like this steals from a store, the store is forced to pass the cost right on to the rest of us. I don't blame the store for that. I blame petty little theives for that.

Shoplifting costs Americans over 30 billion dollars annually. If the costs of shoplifting were coupled with the costs of electronic detection and security guards, the cost of shoplifting would be over 45 billion dollars a year.

Again, guess who pays?

Everyone pays for this crime... every customer must ultimately pay through higher prices. I'm personally not willing to shell out hundreds of dollars a year in increased costs for this crap. There is NO excuse for theft.

"the store has so many items and they can't be responsible for getting everything right". BS. They only have a handful of items on sale each week. These are only a small portion of the stores items and are "the most important" items that will be bringing customers into their store. There is no plausible reason they can't get it right. I believe they do not wish to get it right because they wish to try and commit fraud hoping customers won't notice and they will be able to increase their margins"

What kind of crap is that? Like they only have to monitor they "handful" of stuff on sale? Prices are constantly being adjusted, due to market fluctuation, local competition, sales, simple increases in prices from the distributor, etc. Not to mention they have to keep straight two prices on 75 percent of products- the regular price and the "card" price you get if you are a "preferred" customer with one of those advantage cards.

You dont have one fusking clue how these places work,do you?

It's people like you who I highly hate. In case you didn't already know, I work at a Super Walmart in the nice state of Iowa. I have never ever seen something as you have described. Never will we put a price on an endcap and then make the actually higher. Why the heck would we do that?

That is fraud on our part and false advertising. Sometimes an item will not agree with what price it is advertised on the shelf as. This does not happen too often and if it does happen at any store in America, I'm sure the store will change the price immediately and possibly offer you the item of purchase for free because of incorrect signage.

Why the heck would you waste your time doing this? I know why. You have no life unlike the other people here. If you're doing crime in minor ways right now, just think how much you may do someday just because you thought the price wasn't right.

Don't take out the prices on your local stores. Local employees do not make the prices up. It is corporates that determine the prices. One of the reasons prices go up soo much on items is because of stupid people like you. Do you not have any common sense or what? Should you even be allowed to trade here. If I ever did something like this (which I never will), that stupid $2 would bother me soo much that I would go to the store and pay them the fair price.

We can't sell items for the prices that we pay for them. We have to make some money to actually stay in business, DUH! There is all the shipping fees, warehouse, mantinance of our trucks to ship items in, electricity bills, water bills, payroll, etc. etc. Nothing unusual. Prices will continue to increase due to dumb mo fo's like yourself and I do not apprieciate what you have done nor do the others on this board.

I personally do not believe that you should be allowed to trade on this board anymore because you are bragging about how good you are at stealing. Mods, please give him a vacation or banning to make him think about what he did. I highly dislike ur stupid behavior, grow up already!

Amdskip, retail worker who dislikes stupid people!

Yes, it is.

It's theft in the same way that hacking or pirating a piece of software
is. If you support one, you support both.

In Conn, if the item rings up at a higher price than posted in the aisle, you're supposed to get the item free. But, you have to catch/tell them.

Given that most people shopping are buying somewhat more than $100 at a time, I can understand why it's hard to keep track of which items ring up with a higher price.

Higher hassle, higher ethics: (if the store overcharges)
1. Tell them at the time it rings up.
2. Take the sales-slip back and get a refund.
3. Complain to the state oversight area (Trade commission?)
4. Complain to the BBB
5. Call a local TV or radio station, suggest that they do the "secret shopper" routine on your (now) least favorite store.

<< Why don't you just START CHECKING THE RECEIPT AT THE STORE??? (wow, that must be a new idea to lots of ppl!) >>

I do! Everytime! And two out of three times I get ripped off! And this goes beyond mislabeled prices. I'm talking about getting charged for 6 yogurts when i only got 4 and when I do question the transaction, i get treated like a leper even though I am always polite, very firm but very polite.

Come to think of it, I also hate banks . And even though I would never rob a bank myself, I always chuckle inside every time I hear of a heist - just a small satisfaction for all the people who get nickle and dimed by their bank all the friggin time. Everyone in the US, at least should know what I'm talking about.

sure it's theft but you people are taking it way too seriously. I don't think i would've ever switched prices on something, but it's only 3 bucks.

Stealing is wrong, but it sure can be fun.

As long as you don't get caught, that's fun.

It's a lot more fun when you have to provide anus sex for some tough guys in the jail.

When you put it that way, I will even think twice about taking those little shampoo bottles from hotel rooms.

Woohoo! I just got my first rating! A big fat ONE! Someone must not like my views on the subject - what a piss poor way to vent one's frustration.

i understand what you are saying. i have purchased goods and didn't discover overcharges until i got home. i know it may be only 10 cents or 50 cents, but it adds up over time. if the store hadn't of overcharged you in the first place you wouldn't have done that?

probably not... huh?

it funny that most mistakes at the register are overcharges and not undercharges???? hmmmmmm... interesting.

i see nothing wrong with taking back what was originally stolen from you in the first place. The store knows who you are when they scan your card, and they also know what items you are buying, and they also know what items are on sale.... come on people, i don't see the store manager rushing out of his air conditioned office with a refund in his hand. to get your 10 cents back, they make you "jump-through-hoops". the only person that is going to look after yourself is YOU. i believe in taking matters into my own hands, no body else will do it.
