POLL: Xbox 360 + Wii or PS3?

it really depends on what youa re going to do
see i am not a gamer and when i do play a game ehre and there it is NEVER on a console. i think console games SUCK and are very limiting, very 1 direction. So the Xbox 360 is out for me there is NO reason to buy this console from it's lack of HD-DVD drive (internal), to it's limited HD output. The only thing that appeals to me is XboX Live online gaming, not enought o plunk down $500+games+accessories+online fees+tax
PS3 has some of the same short comings for me but as more of a PC and media guyt his is far more appealing with it's multiple HDMI outputs, full HD output including 1080p! Blu_ray DVD drive (thought i want HD-DVD to win, a cheap HD drive is a cheap HD drive, i do believe the PS3 is goign to be the best media center out of the 3, and the controller though not original is sitll VERY good and everyone knows it. Downside is obviously price!
Now the Wii is actually the most appealing to me pre-launch!!!!!!!! I can't WAIT to try the new nunchuck controller which looks really cool! I want to try and play it, i want to use the motion sensor, i want to plug the controller into the light gun!try out a host of accessories, and actually try playing games thought i will mainly use it as a media center and play old nintendo classics! Downsides is less powerful, not sure how well online gaming will work, no HD, no HD drive, no ethernet internally, but really cheap!
Last console i bought was an xbox 360 that i sold 2 weeks later, but i want to buy a Wii

Multiple HDMI outputs got scratched, along with the single SKU as promised as well as the rumble motors.... bad bad sony.


By Xmas time here will be the prices:
Wii = $200
HD-DVD Player = $400
PS3 $600

Might as well pickup a Wii and an HD-DVD Player since most likely, Sony's Blueray format will be just like UMDs, Memory Sticks, Mini Disc and Betamax! Geez, these guys have a horrible track record.... you've been warned. Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice... well

As I have stated before The Wii (stupid name and all) is the most interesting.
The top 5 reasons that I will be getting one.
5. The price isn't going to break the bank.
4. The ability to consolidate 5 of the consoles I own into one.
3. The controller, from what I understand the Wiimote/nunchuck will not need to be used for all games though, there will be a more standard one for that.
2. SSB:B, Duck Hunt, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, RE5, and the possibility of acutal third party support.
1. The fact that I might be able to get my GF to play games with me.

The prices on the PS3 is outrageous, there is no way I am spending that much on a game console alone, with no games.
And the 360 has nothing at the moment that makes me want to own one. That may change though....

You're right. If PCs were only used for gaming. Thing is, you're going to own and upgrade a PC anyway.

And besides, video card prices are cut in half a couple months after they come out. $600 will probably net you more like two.

Hmm the Wii runs at 480p while the other two run at 720p and above. Hey we bought an HDTV for a reason. I wished Nintendo made the Wii run at 720p. Either way, when good games come out for the Wii and PS3 that I like, I'll end up getting those two systems as well.

If Sony would make their "cheaper" version of the PS3 upgradeable just like the 360 they would have a chance at being on top but I fear it will not happen.

Why would you even have a "cheaper" version if you can't upgrade it to the more expensive version?

Microsoft has done it right having both versions upgradeable which means that if Microsoft wanted to release a 100GB hard drive they can.

And we all know that you don't make money off the consoles. You make your money on accessories and Microsoft has done that with their core console when people couldn't get their hands on the premium console.
