a few of my firend's have one and love them too death, from what I have played i want one too, but can't see spending the money on one right now..
and as for the game cube, very cute, but in my opinion, the games are too easy, made for kids.! not to say that they are not fun

my biggest thing about the xbox (dont own one) is i read/heard that you can piggy-back them so you can play multiplayer on DIFFERENT TV'S instead of that sheitty split screen that i hate so much in most multiplayer console games. i so would love to play something like that. twould be cool

for that alone (and the fact its chipset was made by nvidia), it gets my vote
course i wouldnt buy one, im not a console guy

I won't buy one at the current price. Once the price goes down a little, I'd buy it just for Halo. I've had SO much fun playing that on a friend's.

munki, you can do that with the ps2 also.

as for the xbox, I voted for 'indifferent'. it's a very, very, VERY nice console... but the games just aren't there yet. and it is all about the games. when xbox gets some titles that interest me, that I cannot get on the ps2, then i'll take some interest in the xbox.

It's an IBM Compatible Personal Computer in a black desktop case.

Once price drops & someone writes a DivX player for it & someone else ports MAME to it, it will fly off the shelves. Of course, these people will play MAME all day and not buy any games at all.

Otherwise, XBox will bomb bigtime.

My roommate has an Xbox. So far the best game by far is EA's NHL2002. I was somewhat disappointed with Halo. At times it was really fun playing co-op (especially the very end and certain outdoor environments) but I found some of the interior levels very boring and repetitive. At times every level would look the same and it was just the same situation: clean the room and move on. Perhaps I'm spoilt by PC fps games that are more varied but I would not play Halo again now that I have finished it. Graphic wise it was superb however.

The XBox is just plain fun, as for price coming down, dont expect to. Is selling at a loss right now, if anything the price will go up!.

I don't have one, but I'm against the idea of it.
Game systems have always been designed for games, from the graphics chips to the cpus, putting together mostly off the shelf computer parts together does not fit that.

All the bad things about computers for playing games still carries over on this system, there should have been some effort in it.
