Pain? I can't remember if I felt the pain at all really. It was a good pain.

Also, I think tattoos are very addictive. Kind of like potato chips, you can't have just one.

Agreed.

I've been itching to get another for about a year now... still deciding on what it is going to be.

I've got 5 but only the pic of the one. I'll pull out the digicam in a bit...

I've thought about my name or even the wife's and kids name done in Chinese characters, down my right shoulder blade... but in white ink. I think they refer to white tattoos as "ghosted". Is that right?

Explain to me how you come to the conclusion that a girl is a whore because she has tattoos or piercings?

Just a broad generalization of the people i've met. The women who have tattoos and piercings generally have low self-esteem, and don't amount to much of anything, which in turn leads them to sexual promiscuity.

I agree completely.

next one on upper back.

looks good, I see a lot of people with ones like yours that wrap around. Did you design it yourself?

thanks yeah it's my own design. they are intended to be flame abstractions. the original design was really intricate and the tattoo artist helped me simplify it and i was very happy with the results.

Whenever I see someone that strongly objects to tattoo's and piercings usually they are pretentious, hypocritical bible-thumping sheep but your mileage may vary...

Mine looks sort of like this, right shoulder about 2 inches wide, invisible with a T-Shirt on. I was 21 and will get more when I talk MrsNitemare into letting me have another

Sounds like you could use some ink/metal to loosen you up!

I don't have either. I've considered getting a tattoo but haven't gotten around to it. I drew something once that was just a black silhouette of a kayaker that also somewhat resembles a crucifix. It will be a variation of that if it ever happens.

Never got any piercings. I wanted my ears pierced when I was younger but I've since lost interest.

My fiancee (who was a virgin until she was 24 - how's that for promiscuity?) has numerous piercings - multiple ears and belly button. She used to wear a nose stud but had to remove it for student teaching.

In MY experience women with tattoos and piercings are more adventurous and exciting, both inside and outside the bedroom. Obvious YMMV

Ever see the Red vs. Blue PSA on getting a tattoo? Yeah, that's pretty much my opinion.

To paraphrase:
"Think about it. How smart were you 10 years ago? You were a fvcking idiot! Now, if you had drawn a picture on yourself then, would you like it now? No way!"

I dont get a lot of compliments because no one has any idea what it is, but I love it. Got it a few months ago as a gift from a friend. The design was done by another friend of mine who made it for a Drum n Bass forum (type of techno). Was 18 when I got it. Don't regret it, and I doubt I will because if I ever decide i dont like it anymore, it still represents the person I was when I was young, and reminds me of all the insanity (partying hard every weekend, all weekend for 2 years) of being a music-loving teenager. Sure I may not like it later on, but its who I was, and that doesnt change.

I don't have one, but I've always thought about getting one on the bottom of my foot. I've put it off because I've heard the foot hurts really bad. I would never get one that is exposed. I work in a professional environment and they just aren't appropriate.

To comment on the one guys thoughts, I don't think that tats automatically equates to a whore. The great majority of women with tattoos are not whores. The problem is that nearly all women that ARE whores have tattoos - usually ones around the arm, small of the back, and belly area. Just watch a porno and you'll see. Couple that with the fact that in all other media (film, music, etc) the sweet, pure, and innocent girls NEVER have tattoos. So I can understand your position, but that doesn't make it correct.

Have one one the outer left shoulder. At work, so can't take a picture. 10 years ago, I was not an idiot. I've had mine about that long.
A couple of "idiot" friends of mine (one has a PhD in Chemistry, the other a PhD in Physics) have about 4 or 5 each.
A tattoo does not make someone stupid. It is self expression and solely for the individual.

like the underside of your foot? supposedly it hurts more when there's bone close to the surface of your skin (like the foot), altho i didn't notice a difference between the front and back of mine.

4 here... 1st one at 18.
Id get more but they are just way too expensive now-a-days since they are so trendy.

I'll kill my son or daughter if they get one. Hypocritical? Hell yes, its my right as parent.

And to that moron that judges everyone and anyone with a tattoo as ignorant or a whore, I suggest you retract that. Never have I seen a dumber statement.

One thing I will say is to never get one of the "off the shelf" tattoos that you see displayed. Tattoos should reflect your personality, not the personality of some tattoo artist that you have never met. If you don't have the talent to design you own tattoos (mine are all original) then try working with the tattoo artist to have him/her modify an existing tattoo into something unique for you.

I think the worst thing that I could thing of would be to walk down the street or be at teh beach and see someone with the exact same tattoo. Talk about commercialism.

AMEN! Design it yourself, dont walk in and ask for #13 on page 2. Just stupid.

Okay, nice job overreacting to a little joke. I didn't say ppl with tatoos were stupid. Jesus. Do you know what Red vs Blue is? It's comedy. Not serious. You don't need to go all ballistic flaming me over something so small. I think it says more about your insecurity than any prejudice I might (but don't) have.

You're pretty uptight for a guy who lets ppl draw things on his shoulder.

Didn't realize you were joking. Sorry for that. I just read the post from the idiot about how women with them are whores and whatnot, then read yours. I think people sterotype those with ink as being stupid and lower on the social ladder. I take offense to that. It's a form of self expression. If someone is comfortable enough with themselves to permanantly alter their appearance, then so be it.

which? I rally am not into "showing off" my tattoos. I kinda hate it when people ask to see them. And I hate it even MORE when people make it an OBVIOUS point to show off theirs. (Hint to those that show theirs off: TONS of people have them nowadays... your Panther crawling up your arm, or the barb-wire around your bicep is nothing new)
