However there are certain breeds that run the risk of requiring tail/ear docking because of inherited "features". (basically they've been bred for birth defects because they look good) I hope your vet would do them when required to keep the dog healthy.Originally posted by: Fausto
No, and no. They're both nasty operations. The vet I used to work for refused to do tail/ear docking.
What breeds are you referring to?Originally posted by: yukichigai

My kitten has her claws but thinking of all the declawed cats I had chance to live with, none of them had any behavioral problems... they were fun & loving cats...
Also, one thing pisses me off, A LOT.
I am an animal lover myself and I see all these other animal lovers. Well, when some cat owner says that he/she is gonna get his/her cat declawed, they start treating him like a criminal, telling him that he shouldn't have adopted a cat, he is cruel, etc. etc... I realize it may not be the best thing to do to cats, but do not treat those people like criminals. They adopted an animal that was going to die in a shelter. So disrespecting them like that really pisses me off.

You have a cute kitten, but your sig merits a socking-to-the-face-age. :Q
Not sure, as I'm not a dog person. I know one of them is a breed notorious for a scrunched-up face which can actually cause breathing problems for the poor dog.Originally posted by: Fausto

it has actually been proven to be a form of amputation to the cat.
Heh, I seriously have no clue, and I'll probably never find out. You'll have to ask a dog enthusiast.Originally posted by: Fausto
