I recently had to declare chapter 7 bankrupacy and had it discharged because a business I started failed and I had financed it with my personal credit. I now own a different business and would like to buy a used Jeep private party for $7k. I can afford to put down about $3k so I only need to finance $4k but I don't know who would give me credit. I currently have zero debt and pay all my bills ontime.

I'm not going to pay 25% interest or anything like that and I don't have to buy this Jeep but it would be nice.

If you have any expirence with this and have a suggestion for me please let me know. Thanks.

You know, after my sister filed bankruptcy and it was discharged it seemed like more creditors were willing to give her a chance than when she had zero credit established.

I've been getting all kinds of mail from Easterns Motors and other offering me $29k of credit if I buy a car from them. I have no intention of getting ripped off that bad though, I may be dumb for wrecking my credit but I'm not that dumb.

That's because the creditors know you can't file BK again. So if you screw up and default, you can't hide behind the law. They'll be comin' to get ya!

My advice is to find a $3k car. I know it's not what you want, but you'll be much better off.

Capital one

Road Loans

Open Check

Household

Those are a few I know of. Try a google search for "sub prime" auto loans, as well.

Good luck!

Also, if you are recently self employed, you are gonna have a challenge. And low interest rates generally don't exist immediately after a Bankruptcy.

There's a hell of a difference between filing bankrupty because of poor personal responsibility, and filing for bankruptcy because of an unsuccessful business venture. Hell, over 40% of all small businesses fail in the first 3 years. And that's a bare minimum, I'm sure the actual number is much higher.

What an ignorant statement. Most people have car loans and it was probably not a car loan that was the root of his problem, if you read what the op said. I've gone down for almost a million dollars, due to business failure myself. That had nothing to do with irresponsibility in my personal finances.

Fact is there is a reason why he has to go to fringe lenders, he has proved himself to not be responsible with his credit. If you put your own personal credit on the line for a business be prepared to pay the price if you fail.

And I am giving you some advice, don't get a loan, pay for it with cash and quit being a screw up.

Financing a car, as well as trying to reestablish some credit, hardly equates to beng a screw up. At some point, everyone needs to have some good credit. He will never get there, if he doesn't use some credit along the way. You seem to have a hollier than thou outlook toward other people's situations.

First off, learn how to quote you moronic douchebag. I don't know how someone can be so persistantly ignorant when it comes to simple forum quotes. Second, believe it or not, your "high and mighty" attitude does nothing to help society. Stop trying to be the champion for racism and personal responsiblity on a fvcking internet forum. You're not Martin Luther King no matter how much you think you are. Go outside and help some real people instead of starting arguments to fulfill your desire of self-righteousness.

Idiot.

What because I think he should take responsibility for his actions? Get a secured credit line to reestablish credit, don't go borrowing another 4k which you could possibly not pay back when you bankrupt another business.

ATOT is the wrong place to ask for this advice, we all have 800 credit scores, we own 3 mansions each, and pay for our cars with cash. It's only natural that we look down our noses at you

Personally, I fly on the backs of griffins. Instead of driving a car, I ride unicorns.

What?

I am not trying to be a champion of anything. I have a strong belief in personal responsibility and I will share the belief. As far as race goes the only discussion I had concerning race here involved MIKEMIKE and he was banned soon after for his racist comments.

Go to http://creditboards.com/forums/index.ph...a0ffbb6e8abca8101b97be3c4&showforum=17 for a lot of good reading regarding credit.

Also, thanks to compuwiz1 for being such a stand up person. I remember a few years back I posted a request to donate old computer parts for a college mate of mine that was dirt poor. I imagine that computer is still running today. Some people thought it was a scam, but there were a few stand up members of this board the sent me the parts to build a tool for someone that was struggling to make it. Thanks again for all your good advice and help.

Avoid Capital One like the plague. Their customer service is horrible, and it will take MONTHS to take care of anything that requires a modification to your title. Trust me, I learned this from experience.
