Popping in Speakers

Dear Group:

I have a Soundblaster Live Value sound card that came with the Dell Computer I have. I just recently installed WindowsXP Pro and am experiencing some crackling and intermittent popping from the speakers (Harmon Kardon with Sub). I have searched the web and found that I am not the only one having this problem. I think it's from the sound card.

I have tried many suggestions from the web including updating the driver and changing the speakers. I lowered the computer "sound level" and increased the speaker physically and visa versa... The problem still exists. Any more suggestions...

And... what NEW sound card should I get if it comes down to replacing the card...??? I heard something like the Santa Cruz is good.

I can help on new sound cards.
I recommend the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or the Philips Acoustic Edge. Your sound card is outdated as it is.

If you are using windows XP then you might try updating the audio/video for messenger (I think that is what it is listed as).

i tried updating the audio/video driver, but problem still occurs... =( looks like i'll be getting a new sound card... anymore suggestions?

do you know of any good deals on the santa cruz card...?
