I liked that software. I was using it with my laptop, and a GPS puck for awhile I don't use Windows anymore, and even if I could get it going in Wine, I doubt I could get the GPS working.

I never could get the GPS to work right. I remember taking it on vacation and getting totally lost from it because the map was out of date

I would be eager to know how many winamp users came online during the past 8 years or so. It's easy (for me) to see why old timers would be using winamp, but I just don't see some kid out of HS/college today to know/need winamp.

yea id bet most now are using the crap that is itunes

winamp wins because its simple, fubar may be superior but it looks like shit compared to winamps infinite skins

We've left this a bit wide open, but we could talk about the disappearance of things like telnet as well, though it's not really a 'program'.

i worked for a health system that used it, must have had it on about 7500 clients and they picked up more hospitals and clinics that will get them to almost 9000 in the near future.

i think there were always install/deployment/misc agent issues on 3-4% of the machines, not sure how that compares to other products. as far as protection...it seemed to work about as well as anything else, but the on demand scan is the worst kind of resource hog

I think that you might be talking about DesqView. I used that to run a multinode BBS back in the day. Brings back memories!
