I was just about to finalize my hsn order but came back here and noticed the unit does NOT have an LCD screen! You can get a home unit that has digital audio outputs and plays mp3s and vcds for this price or less. If it had an lcd screen it would be great! Glad i didn't complete the order! But thanks for pointing out the buy...i guess it would be good if you really needed a portable unit without a screen.

Boy, you guys are picky.

Looks very cool for the price. If you were in the market for a MP3 CD player, why wouldn't you get this instead and be able to output movies too? Unless size was a major concern.

I'd do it, but my 4" LCD is starting to bore me. If I had a 7" widescreen waiting, I'd do it. It would make setting up videos for long trips a lot easier.

Nice for bringing movies over to friends houses who don't have DVD yet.

A lot of you guys were going crazy for the $100 VCD player that was here a little while ago. I think this tops that. Go get the $100 LCD they were selling and you're set!

Why not just go for one of the bundle packages at MP3playerstore.com for $169 which includes the LCD screen and the MP3/DVD/VCD player instead of paying $99 for just the LCD here and paying $79 + S&H @ HSN?

The 169 bundles don't work because none of them actually play DVD.. the 3 listed there are mp3/vcd/cd.

Not a bad deal at all in my opinion... I'm thinking of a temporary mount for my car for the LCD... and some use as a portable on the side... hmmmm

hmmm... i swear i recall a post on that lcd screen before. i believe ppl were saying the resolution wasn't very good. however, this is a pretty good deal on a portable dvd player. its much cheaper than all the others i've seen (before shipping).

Yep, most people who bought the LCD said 256 colors wasn't enough to provide an adequate picture for anything to do with video.

Personally I'd recommend you go with the PSOne LCD screen they sell in toys stores. You'll get the same size and sound, plus a better screen with a warranty from a known manufacturer rather than some generic LCD screen. I've seen for as little at $89 locally for a 5.6" LCD screen, dual speakers, and a composite video/audio inputs.

This thing is about half the size of my laptop and about an 2 1/4" taller...think I will just keep using my laptop as my portable all-n-one multimedia station.

Although this would be sweet deal if it had a screen.
