Although, in all honesty, I still have not gotten back in to the Blazers like I did in the 90's...I loved them...

Bandwagon much? I hear they're still room on the Cleveland cart.

With Joel Przybilla playing like he's playing? Oden's playing very well, better than he gets credit for. Half his fouls are bullshit anyway, and he isn't fouling out of games. He does dominate the middle when he's in. He rebounds well and changes shots in the paint. They don't need Oden to play 40 mnutes anyway.

They have that convoluted formula which involves looking at their conference record, division record, their records between each other, etc. It's all covered here.

As for standings, this page breaks down all possible scenarios for the final standings after tonight's games.

IIRC

#2 - Houston - Division winner - Gets #2 via 3-1 season series win over Denver
#3 - Denver - Division Winner
#4 - Portland
#5 - San Antonio

the nba west is soooo good. yeah, the champs may be from the east, but there's really only 3 teams worth watching over there. no one cares which sacrificial lamb gets to go to boston or orlando in the first round

Aaah ... was thinking of players not the damn coach :| Regardless ... I recently moved to the West Coast of British Columbia ... and since Vancouver lost the Grizzlies a while ago, and the former Sonics have moved, Portland is the closest team to support. That, plus they're on the rise, and I really dig watching Brandon Roy play.

You have no idea what you're talking about...

I was a blazer fan the majority of my life- I started getting in to the Sonics because the Blazers when to complete SHIT- and I don't mean record wise- I stuck with them through losing seasons, when they were not winning at all...the players they had on their team when I started getting in to the sonics were the reason I strayed- they were nothing like the old Blazer teams.
And I should mention, I was a fan of the sonics when they were in the cellar- they had 1 good year, that was it. So I'm not chasing winning teams, or "bandwagoning" as you call it.

Hell, I know a lot of die hard blazers fans that strayed for a while there- they were a team of bums...

Its a damn shame that Vancouver and Seattle lost their teams. My 1st playoff game was 1991 at the Seattle Center when Sedale Threatt hit a 3 at the buzzer to beat Portland and avoid the sweep...those Sonics fans went nuts, we went home

The Grizzlies seemed to always find a way to beat Portland, no matter how good we were or how bad they were.

I'm going to miss those NW rivalries.

Way to finish strong Portland!

1st team in NBA history to field 4 rookies and win 50 or more games, the 2nd youngest team in the league this year and Rudy breaks the rookie record for 3 pointers. This is a special team, and they even seem to like each other.......if you're a Portland fan, you just gotta love this shit.

The playoffs won't be easy....Houston has had our number this year, if Roy doesn't hit that 32'er at the buzzer, Portland would have been 0 - 3 against the Rockets this season. They throttled us out of the gate that last game in Houston, kept us from finishing the season 10 - 0.

Go Blazers!

They didn't have much to play for, Portland pretty much NEEDS homecourt.

Who is the Blazer's gm? He's done a remarkable job in turning the franchise around, performance and perception.

w00t!,

Nuggets in 2nd in the west and Cav's in 1st out east. I NEVER thought I would see this ever happen.

I hope the Blazers get rid of the Rockets and the Jazz upset the Gaykers!

Nuggs got a great opportunity to make it to the West Finals. They should handle the Hornets easily and then beat an aging Spurs team. However, I think their road will come to an end at the hands of the Lakers. Go Nuggs!
