Positive air flow / Negative air flow???

i've been hearing about positive/negative air flow and i was wondering exactly what that meant??

also, how does having either positive and/or negative air flow affect cooling the computer (i.e. will the comp be cooler with positive air flow over negative air flow, etc.)???

Positive air flow means that the total CFM that your fans blow into the case is larger than the CFM that the fans exhaust from the case. Negative airflow is obviously the opposite of that. The frequency that the air in the case is exchanged will partially determine the cooling efficiency. The actual flow of the air through the case can also be a factor. Most people have the fans in the lower front of the case blow air in, and the fans in the upper rear of the case blow air out (Since heat rises).
