Regarding the FE stuff. I sort of wonder if that will continue or not. The response wasn't great this time around, and I really just don't see NV continuing that...

I agree, unless they go AIO CLC like Fury X. Then the $100 premium would at least have a valid reason.

1080 and 1070 went up $50 from the 900 series. I think 1080 Ti will be $100 premium from last gen though. $750 for MSRP. Probably $100 more for FE.

And since Titan series is reference (FE) only, I'm gonna go with $1100 for the Titan 1000.

This could be the case, but take into consideration Nvidia basically has free reign with pricing right now due to lack of competition.

If AMD does have a competitive product out when the 1080 Ti is ready, they'll have to keep the pricing more reasonable I think.

Needless to say the GTX 1080ti and Titan will be BEASTS. my guess is they will both be around 40-50% faster than the 1080

That would not be a good long term financial move unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

Imo, they should really go for the centered axial fan design similar to Titan Z/7900GTX reference cooler (if going air cooled). Although they don't blow all the hot air out of the exhaust, they tend to cool the GPU better and have a better noise profile compared to blowers/radial fan.

Regards to the possible 1080Ti/1090/Titan etc.. will the GP102 be a ~450mm^2 die with 60SMs (3840CCs) or the full monty at ~600mm^2 and 80SMs (5120CCs). Thinking the former is the likely scenario as it pairs well with 384bit GDX5 memory interface (at 10~14Gbps), 240TMUs, 96ROPs and 3MB L2 cache while the TDP will be in the 250W area if everything scales linearly.
