Possible 1080 TI/Titan specs?

It's guesswork. Somewhat reasonable with GP102. I expect the same, perhaps 3584 shaders on the Ti if they want it to be as close as the 980 Ti was, but I wouldn't be surprised if they slightly increased the gap.

But you KNOW it's guesswork because GTX 1060 as GP104 1280SP is laughable. They will not cut the GP104 50%, they will have a new GP106 or whatever. Even mobile GM204 was never cut more than to 62.5%, which would match a 1664 or 1536 SP GP104. Expect a mobile part there, and possibly a 1060 Ti there if AMD's pressure is real.

But man, what a joke to even humor the thought of a 1280SP GP104, let alone write it in a chart. Get real.

Well, there was a 50% cut GM204, the 1024SP/64TMU/32ROP GTX 965m that later got replaced with GM206 according to the second link. That was a mobile part.

GTX 1070's GP104 is 25% cut after all (1920/2560), there are probably much more defective chips than that that could be salvaged as the GTX 1060... but yeah, doesn't make much sense when they could get cheaper GP106 to power that card.

Assuming that the chart is real, the 1060 would likely be an OEM part. It's just a way for NVidia to use up any chips that didn't make the cut for 1070. Given what the 1070 is, a 50% cut isn't too unreasonably, though I had originally guessed GP106 would max out at 60% of the CUDA cores as GP104, but that was just a guess.

Very interesting, using a 50% cut GM204 until GM206 was ready. I guess that could be duplicated again temporarily, but I'd be shocked to see it in a desktop part.

Here is to hoping GTX 1080 Ti/Ultra/Black is 10+ months away. Then I can swing it, otherwise got to practice discipline and wait my full year.

Unless Vega is a slouch, I expect it sooner rather than later.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

Dont know how real these specs are, but here we go:

GP102

12 gig GDDR5X SDRAM @ 256-bit (seems to be a mistake, must be 384-bit)
1507 base clock -> 1621 boost clock

Taken from a Norwegian "price tracker" http://www.prisguide.no/produkt/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-261727

*edit*

GP102 is simply 1.5 x GP104's + alittle lower clocks to keep the heat in check ?

314 mm^2 x 1.5 = 471 mm^2
2560 CUDA cores x 1.5 = 3840 CUDA cores (1507 base clock -> 1621 boost clock)
8 gigs GDDR5X x 1.5 = 12 gigs GDDR5X (256-bit x 1.5 = 384-bit?)
180w TDP * 1.5 = 270w TDP (alittle lower with slower clocks)

*edit*

Interesting, but my guess would be this is just a "placeholder" since they probably don't deal with NV themselves.

Yeah could be, or GP102 is simply 1.5 x GP104's cuda cores and ram + alittle lower clocks to keep the heat in check.

Both seems reasonable.

FULL GP102 (Titan)

314 mm^2 x 1.5 = 471 mm^2
2560 CUDA cores x 1.5 = 3840 CUDA cores (1507 base clock -> 1621 boost clock)
8 gigs memory x 1.5 = 12 gigs memory (256-bit x 1.5 = 384-bit?)
180w TDP * 1.5 = 270w TDP (alittle lower with slower clocks)

I expect GDDR5X at this point. But definitely on a 384 bit bus instead of the 256 listed.

I am guessing $899 Founders (might be an AIO CLC after all the criticism we threw at it) and $799 for AIB partners. Next Titan $1299.
