I usually receive my rebates fine from CompUSA. There was once that the software company rejected my rebate. I scanned the flyer, my rebate form, and e-mail compUSA. They're pretty quick in responding and ask a local manager to contact me. He offered a cash-redeemable gift certificate of the same value of my rebate.
To be obsolutely sure you will get rebate, always photo-copy every related document (form, receipt, UPC, etc). Keep a database record of your rebate applications. Put filing date, receiving date, etc. Maybe put the date it is supposed to arrive.
I start to do it this time by adding a copy of my photocopy of all the documents in the mail so they know I have everything in photocopy that they should not mess with my application. Good idea? I will see.
I got SONY but have not opened. Over-burn, BURN-proof is the major features missing from this drive. Does anyone know if BURN-proof can be added with firmware upgrade or it's completely hardware. From information I read, it could be controlled by software. I don't know if the suspension of writing is completely hardware or not.
Thanks,
