Works fine for me. Why was the original topic edited? I am just afraid they will jack the price like provantage did.

Re: Order Number *******
Dear Provantage Customer,
Occasionally, the price may change on an out-of-stock item due to an unexpected cost increase from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, an unexpected cost increase has occurred on an item you ordered, Provantage part# PNYV03P. As a result of this increase, our new price is $448.20.
Please advise if we should proceed with your order at the new price.
Sincerely,
The bandwidth limit of DVI is 1600x1200 60Hz. That's the standard. There are some higher resolution wide screen monitors that run at a lower refresh rate (52Hz) to maintain the bandwidth limit.Originally posted by: sapiens74
I had the PNY 6800gt till I installed it and realized it wouldn't support anything higher than 1600x1200 on a flat panel. Is this a GT limitation or just the pny one?

Yeah, and what about widescreen LCD monitors for 1080p WMV9? Clearly, DVI is the only way to go for "Better than HDTV" resolution and now you tell me that DVI doesn't support it? How does the Mac version get away with is if ADC is just a proprietary-shaped DVI connector?
Now I'm torn. I was dead-set on getting a 16:9 ?x1080 LCD but not if the refresh rate is slower than the frame rate.

LCD's have fixed refresh rates of 60hz for the most part. The refresh rate will often be lower than the frame rate. This is why many people do not like LCD's for gaming. This is why you get ghosting.
MANY people will tell you they do not notice ghosting. Good for them. However I always do, my advice is make sure you test it for yourself before you buy it. Go buy one at a place like BestBuy where you can return it if you dislike it.

so many people quick to call someone a fanboy.... i have never bought an ati card cause i was brand loyal to nvidia. till i got a 9800 pro for cheap. and its just known doom3 was coded for nvidia cards, and the numbers on H'OCP's site proves that. I may have read your post wrong and i hope i did. and smiley's r for p....nvrmind.
on topic: I wish i had the dough to get the gt as that seems to be the deal to get. but only true pc geeks spend $300+ on a video card and i aint there yet.
Yeah, you're probably not a fanboy. :roll:Originally posted by: XNice
all i was saying was that i think this is deliberate with the availability dates but i may be wrong.
