What up everybody. I'm here with a question from a friend. Las night my friend called me and told me he could not access any website through his web browser (IE and FireFox) nor could he play any on on line video games or access the internet in any general way. Yet the other computers on his network were not having the same problem. This makes me think the problem is isolated to his computer. I had him run through couple of things, check some settings and nothing worked. The only thing we stumbled upon while using ipconfig was that even though he has obtained a lease he has no connection-specific DNS suffix, but connected to DNS servers. I had him ping some websites using url's instead of ip's and all the pings were success full. He than called his ISP and they told him the problem could be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling his network drivers. but doesn't the fact that he can ping outside webiste imply that everything on the hardware level is operational? In my opinion it has to be some setting, maybe tcp/ip setting or i guess individual DNS problem, but since that doesn't make all that sense either since his all other computers on the network can browse the internet. well, any thought, comments, suggestions, or whatnot would greatly appericated.
