Possible fried mobo, what to check next?

I've got a ASUS P4T533-C i850E mobo, 2.26Ghz P4. Apparently everything was working last night. Today nothing. Went to check my email and had a blank monitor. At first I thought my monitor was dead, but the the status light on the bezel was showing an amber 'no signal' color. I then tried hitting the power button to power down with no result. Power wouldn't shut off. At this point I shut the power off on the back of my enermax PSU. When I switched it back on, the power to the whole system switched on (without hitting the power button) and the ide light came on but no sounds of the hard drive motor. No POST beep codes. I tried unplugging the hard drive to see if I could get it to POST...nothing.

Any ideas on what I should try next?

Clear CMOS with the PSU unplugged. And while you have the case open look and smell for anything out of the ordinary. Check all cables, cards, connections too.
