I will tell the story the way I saw it, so you can come to ya own conclusions.

Short form if you don't wanna read whole post:
- Got new PSU few days ago and overclocked my E6420 to 3.2Ghz
- Found optimized video card drivers last night and tested them out, worked fine after some tweaking
- Started computer following morning and it sat on black screen after XP loading screen, rebooted
- Noticed second HDD missing in BIOS, checked cables and restarted, found both HDD's
- Restarted again and now windows XP blue screens on boot everytime
- Got rid of my OC, kept blue screening
- Tried installing Windows on second HDD, comes up "Error Loading OS" after the first install part, before you input all your info
- Tried HDD into another PC and done a "chkdsk /f", found a bad sector and fixed errors
- Plugged HDD back in main PC, and it loaded windows

Because I have done a few things lately I am not sure what to blame, my thoughts:
- New PSU may be faulty
- Optimized drivers may have corrupted Windows
- My overclock could have corrupted Windows (heard of this before)
- Both?? of my HDD's have decided to die just coincidently after I got this new PC
- Any other 100 possible problems that computers can have

What do you guys reckon is the problem, if I hear a few people saying "HDD dieing" I will buy a few new ones in the next week, just don't wanna do that and find it has the same problem in a few weeks time.

Long Version Below
So for the last few days I have been running my E6420 at 3.2Ghz, with excellent temps (Around 28c idle, and around 41c full load), so all good. Then yesterday I was poking around and found some "optimized drivers" for my 8800GTS, which I installed but wasn't too happy, so then I got a different version, which I am running now, and my computer was running a little better in games. Then I went to bed that night.

The following morning I awoke and turned my PC on before work to play a little BF2, it came up the loading Windows XP screen and then... black screen with my mouse pointer... and nothing, sat there for a few minutes so I rebooted using the reset button. Upon loading again I noticed in the POST that it wasn't detecting both harddrives, so I checked in BIOS and only 1 was there, so I turned it off and checked cables, restarted and they were both there again, then went to load windows again, and this time it flashed a blue screen and then restarted, and kept doing this. I then got rid of my OC, and returned BIOS to default, still blue screened. I then plugged the HDD into another PC and done a "chkdsk /f" and it found a few errors and a bad sector, fixed the errors. Then I put it back in mine and it managed to boot windows. Now my question is, is my HDD going bad, as it's getting some age on it (around 4-5 years now), or did my OC corrupt windows, or is the new PSU not working correctly...

Thank you so much in advance if anyone has any advice or thoughts.

Sounds like a software problem but missing hdd in BIOS makes it playing psu/mobo or hdd itself (less likely). Your overclock could have affected storage controller ? it often happens. See if it plays on stock. If it is stable than sc it is ? try using alternative (not Intel?s on chip) if you have one or just oc a bit less.
