Possible Hottie - Compaq Presario 2800 1.6 $1600

Here is the linky for this. I looked on reseller ratings and nothing is listed about this company. Anyone ever deal with them? I'm looking for a new laptop and this is the lowest price I've found. Kinda scared about ordering since no information on the company. Seems like some really good prices. Maybe too good?

This is bordering something of a good deal, IMO. I personally don't like Compaq too much.

heavy? what are you talking about? If you compare it to all of the competition, like the Sont GRX, the Dell 8200, etc, this thing is the thinnest and lightest of all.....

I am typing on one right now, and I walk around with it regularly, and it has never been a problem. For the kind of power you get form this thing, I would hardly call it heavy.

I bought mine straight from Compaq, BTW.

I just noticed that a similar configuration from Compaq's website is nearly the same price (after $100 instant rebate). Plus you get a free bag and free 802.11b module. You may want to check that out, considering this dealer is relatively unknown...

Whew. Glad I found this thread. The tax that Compaq charges was gonne kill me. I'm gonna jump on this one and save like $200, even after Compaq's $100 rebate. Very nice. Thanks.
