possible motherboard problem?

hi everyone. MY brother called me last weekend and said he was having a problem with his computer. All the fans were on in his computer but he could not get a video signal. Apparently his screen saver locked up and after he rebooted no video signal at all. On the phone i thought it might be his video card or maybe psu (he has a crappy psu). I took it back to my place and tried his video card in one of my computers and it worked just fine. I then stripped the computer down to just the motherboard and video card and nothing. When i turn the computer on i don't get anything. I would expect to at least get beep but nothing at all but the fans spin just fine on the cpu and everything. The motherboard is an epox 8rda+ (nforce2 board) and the led on the motherboard is showing FF. I found a post that pretty much stated that if you were having problems maybe taking out the bios chip and then inserting it back in would work which i did in fact do. I also of course cleared the cmos and took the battery out for over 30 minutes. Nothing seems to work. Do you guys think the MB is shot? I would assume the cpu is not dead else you would get anything when you turned the power on. What do you guys think? Is this a mb problem and i just need to get a new one?

My GFs machine did this exact same thing last night.. woke up and it was stuck with no mouse on the screen saver.. rebooting did exactly as you said. no video no post..
did not have enough time to tshoot this morning will look harder tonight.
brand new ASUS 939 A64 board and 3000+ with crucial 512 and a gf5600 and a brand new 400 watt PS

Check the capacitors on the motherboard. If you see them bulging/leaking electrolyte; RMA it. You can also Google for 8RDA leaking capacitors
