Possible RED ALERT on Yoyo project - Trojans?

I've received a multitude of messages tonight from my A/V s/w (McAfee) that a Trojan was detected and removed from traffic coming from the yoyo project.

Specifically, the one warning (the GUI only flashes for seconds) that I managed to screen cap IDs "proxy-distnet" as the trojan detected and removed.

Disclaimer: I've not researched the trojan, nor checked yoyo forums, nor anything else. This just happened in the past few minutes and I wanted to issue a warning ASAP.

I haven't been running the Yoyo project for a while, but I just told my main home PC to grab some new work from the project. I got a handful of new tasks and AntiVir didn't have a problem with any of them. I manually scanned the BOINC folder just to be sure but nothing popped up. Hopefully that means they already fixed the problem.

Cancel possible red alert on this...I posted my concern on their forum and received the following reply...seems A/V can falsely detect stuff from them:

It's not infected, it's an overreaction to something harmless by the antivirus software.

No probs, just good that we are alert.

I remember a similar oversensitive reaction of AV-programs when NanoHive started and - a very long time ago - when seti@home classic was new and some AV-programs were not mature enough ...

No probs reported here. It has been reported (in general) that some A/V makers have increased the "paranoia" of their heuristics algorithms lately in an attempt to reign in some of the increasingly self-morphing code written by the various miscreants of todays digital age. That can lead to more false positives. AVG effectively quarantined some of my important Cygwin tools a month or so ago because of this.
