I got a call today that I?m approved for a brand new Pentium 4 Dell for only $36 a week from my checking account. No credit check and instant approval? just call 1800 458 2942 and find out for yourself.
I call the number they left. They?re going to connect me to the INFROMATION SUPRA HIEWAE!!! I first ask for more information? he blabbers something about a 3 month lay-away scheme? blah blah? I interrupt him- I already know it?s next to bogus, so I press to the tech?
He tells me its a ?2004 Dell,? so I ask him whats the difference between a 2003 and a 2004 Dell. He starts to blow me off by asking something about what the OS on the 2003 is? I ask him to be specific, but he says that he?s not ?technical.? I explain to him how insulted I am and I ask him how fast this computer is. He tells me again that it?s a Pentium 4. I asked him to clarify? hinting that I need a number that ends in ?hertz.? ?Oh, oh, oh, he says? it?s two gigahertz.?
PROBLEM:
2ghz Pentium 4?s aren?t available on the i865 chipset?. The only 2ghz proc Dell pushes is a CELERON. This is FALSE advertising.
I start to inquire more after pointing this out. After all?how long could they possibly finance an $800 computer for... Fifty-two weeks??? $36 x 52 weeks = $1872???
The interest rate of the financing I ask? Answer= 1%....
I ask for the physical address? phone numbers, a written copy of the privacy report? the names of his children?.
I?m glad I?m not as gullible as the target audience for this? someone explain to me how 800$ to 1850$ is 1% over a year, for one of the crappiest Big Box computers money can buy? barring an eMachine? oh well...
Edit:
Forgot to include the adress...

Sounded really shady to me... some financing company... blah blah... I'd be interested in seeing if they give the same adress....
Oh yeah, and I'm on the national and PA do not call lists....
