Hello friends...

I just wanted to pass along that it appears there is what might be a cheater once again connecting to public SetiQueues.

The only proof I have is based on their stats:

775,445 results with 84 days of CPU time, and an average WU time of under 6 hours as shown here: http://cache.futuregroup.com:5517/userinfo.htm?user=615598

Check your Public SetiQueues and disable them if you find an entry for this "Kermit". They never download any results - only upload around 400 at a time, and they are all old WU's...

I have already alerted David Anderson. I do not know whether or not Berkeley is going to have the time to research into it. Thought I'd let you all know so you can go check your own Queues for this user.

Again, I don't have any proof other than the stats that are shown on my SetiQueue entry for this user. They are not a member of Team Starfire and I do not believe they are a member of AnandTech either. It sure seems suspicious.

Well to keep you informed, I actually already have received a response from David Anderson. He said they were going to investigate it...

That sure was quick! A reply within a few hours! Hopefully they will be able to take care of it...

There is no cash prize. There's not even a free blender. There is no point in cheating.

He could just be using a different cache to unload, because it can't handle the strain.

Let's hope that somehow this is a mistake, & it clears up.

Old wu? Yes... most of these is from august-october 2003, the same time-frame Berkeley have and is delivering for the moment...
More disturbing is 7 doublet-messages... If it's the same user in Smoke's link, it's both suspicious he's connecting to your queue at all, and suspicious dumping habits...

3 other users of this queue has some suspicious connections the same date, 11. March, mr. "modified client", mr. 29no03aa.12061.10226.711070.102 returning this wu 20? times, and mr. 22ja04aa.654.3586.773582.213
No, didn't take a closer look at any of these, so most likely nothing really wrong here.
Looking at result.csv is much easier to find doublets.

Well in any event I have faith that Berkeley will take care of things. If it turns out the guy is legit then that's fine...But like you said...Why bother connecting to a strangers setiqueue?

I am going to do some digging in some old posts I made at BBR. If I remember correctly, I think I have had this guy on my queue before...same scenario...
