Possible to have 2 identical mice in Win7?

Hi, I'm not very satisfied with the battery capacity of the Logitech G700.

I was wondering:
If I buy another G700, is it possible to switch off the one that I have and switch on the new one, and have the USB receiver recognize it?

That way I could just re-charge one of them while using the other. Or is there some kind of pairing going on that makes this impossible?

You may need 2 USB receivers, but it should work.

Hi, thanks for answering.

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem. I'll just plug the supplied new USB receiver into a different USB port and cross fingers. The driver is already installed so it should recognize it, I guess.

I just thought of a snag in my plan. I have to have both mice switched on at the same time. Because I have to re-charge the one I'm not using.

So what happens when both mice are switched on?

Maybe it'll be fine as long as I make sure that the one re-charging is absolutely still and doesn't move?

You can use a laptoptouchpad, and a mouse at the same time. Whichever is moving would be the one picked up. I am not sure of the priority of both moving at the same time... Probably a registry edit to set.

You can use both mice at the same time, Windows seems to average their movements. If it's just sitting there untouched, it won't move.

As an added comment . . . I have had two identical wireless mice in a Win7 system. Here's the kicker - each has its own mini-receiver. They are not interchangeable. So, I had to use 2 USB ports and plug them both in. Bottom line - they each are on a different frequency. Mouse "A" will not work with receiver "B" and vice versa. Ergo, no conflict possible.

And, as has been pointed out, my laptop can have the touchpad, the pointing stick, and a mouse all on at the same time. No problem. You can create mouse wars.

I have 3 mice on my computer at all times, one Razer wired plugged in on my desk, one logitech wireless, and a blue tooth mouse/keyboard combo for couch surfing. All 3 mice are useable at any time, but make sure the other one is still. Every now and then i will be playing a game at my desk and get random mouse movement (only to find out the cat is playing with the bluetooth mouse on the couch or something)

I've used a couple wired meeces simultaneously without issue also. For wireless, I suppose it depends upon your usage whether it is preferred to have diff'rent receivers or a universal one like Logitech's "Unifying".

The logitech G7 was the best mouse ever made, it shipped with two removable batteries, charge one while using the other, quick swap when needed. I could swap those bad boys in literally under 2 seconds.

Buy a set of rechargeable AA batteries and a wall charger and just swap batteries.
