It's not even proven true... hilarious!

I'm scrambling trying to find a 146 .. sorta gave up on that and went for a 144. Wish I would have rethought my buying strategy about three weeks ago, as I dug thru 12+ vendors today and no one had it instock 'cept for ZZF who raised the price to $232. Amazing that AMD would not consider the enthusiast crowd when they KNOW that this group makes the most online noise when it comes to performance. Howza bout cranking up that fab and throwing us late to the party-ers some Opteron luvin' !!

I put my 148 up for sale in the appropriate forum. CABYE 0540 never opened the box...It's been hard to see it sit here and not rip her open to see what she'll do! **SOLD**

Funny...

From my perspective, I see the exact opposite.

Don't you think it's curious there are no 90nm socket 940 Opteron 100s?
Did AMD "accidentally" forget those and make a bunch of socket 939s?

Seems more like this is all part of their plan.

P.S. Is gmail still invite-only?

Yeah. I took several pictures of the chip for fun and it works great with screenshots.
Does anyone know where I can find an Excel sheet (or something in that sort) for the VCore combinations/outcomes on Genie BIOS? First time using DFI board and this whole "VCore + Special %" thing gets so tedious. I don't even know why they exist that way, instead of a big happy scale? :disgust:

I have a better list that shows voltages from least to greatest in order. This way if you want to up your voltage one notch in combination, then you just go up the list.

I'll have to dig it up... someone created it, but I altered it a bit...

g0dMan, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could remember where you saved it!
Also, I do not get the theoretically correct voltages in Windows, is that normal?

For example, if I set 1.30 VCore and 110% Special I *should* get 1.43 (1.3 x 1.1), I suppose? But the actual volt is something like 1.38V.

Man that's bad news!

I got a 2nd 146 en route by mistake (left too late to cancel & the store was way ahead of its expectations!) ,I was going to sell it on but I might hang on to it instead.....

I ordered one more today, I doubt I will be upgrading for a while except maybe my video card in my other rig. I am very happy with my Opteron.

Rustler,

where'd you order the opty today? I've got my 1st and probably only CABYE coming from Tankguys. I placed an order with the Egg today for a retail 148 via Paypal. Paypal said they sent $, Newegg said they didn't get it, order in limbo, order canceled by me, no one knows where my $ is!! I'm too unlucky to live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:disgust:

Oh well, least Tankguys came through for me.

I had the exact same thing happen with ZZF. ZZF didn't have a clue about my order, and Paypal didn't have any record of the purchase, but if you call your bank they'll tell you that you still have the amount of cash in you account, but its being held. It should be released with-in 3 -5 days. I know just how you feel. I was so pissed, cause I was buying the RAM in system in my sig, and it had been out of stock for that last 3 weeks. I had finally cought it and ordered it to have that happen. The next day they were out of the RAM and raised the price $20. When I asked them if I could get a set reserved from the next shipment for the same price, they told me there was nothing they could do. Thank god the Egg got them in the same day.

Call your bank though. You'll get your money back.

I'm thinking the same thing. I've got a feeling that the Egg had so much $ changing hands in this next to last weekend before Xmas that they didn't get around to "seeing" that they received my $. I'm certain that things will be squared away come Monday. However, it's still annoying that I can't spend this $ over at flickerdown.com instead till the $ comes back to me. Unfortunately, I discovered Dave after this problem:|
