IMO this is SCORCHING hot!. Like the OP says, the toners are A LOT more than this. Heck the toners cost more than this even without the rebate involved. The rebate is a tad scary, but I'm going for it.

One more thing...The OP said get an extra for hte toners, but be careful. The rebate is good for one per customer.

Even without rebate it's hot. YMMV. They printed rebate form and extra receipt right at the register.

I was about to buy a next set of color inks (for kids Inkjet) that will never last longer than couple months.

Another bad thing is power: house lights are flickering while turning On/Off - 500W+ while printing!

I did not try pictures yet but for regular color document it looks better that huge HP I have at work. Just keep in mind that this is NOT a photo printer!

I have the 4070 which has duplex and wireless networking. The Brother before that dimmed my lights, but not the 4070. Lasers do draw much more power than inkjets when warming up.

That's way too big to be a home laser printer. My 2170W is only 15 lbs. But this deal's pretty damn good if you don't mind waiting for the large rebate.

no idea but in my experience when a rebate is for more than half off of the purchase price - I never received it. I've had this happen 2 times, once with a well-known company, I learned my lesson after that.

Look at it this way, if it works you'll have gotten an awesome deal, but it's a big chance as they're holding everything.

For $150, it's worth it. Just don't forget to keep copies and documents of everything. Read the fine print. Take no chances. I have gotten 2 $100 rebates on a $200 printer, a $50 rebate on a $90 scanner, and a $170 rebate on $170 software package. I heavily document those so that I can answer any questions about them.

Not sure a delivery confirmation to a PO BOX is worth anything...

In case of problems, in the past I've mostly been successful with being able to provide copies of submissions - having this is BY FAR more important than spending money on confirmations of dubious worth. The times I have not gotten rebates even with copies is mostly when the company offering the rebate went out of business (SyQuest, CompUSA, few others). Some companies are way worse than others at fulfilling rebates (PNY, Symantec), and I will never buy any of their products, if a rebate is involved - I was just wondering about Brother - they seem to have a lot of rebates these days...

I just looked at the Microcenter webpage and rebate link is gone! completely!
I printed it last night in PDF in case someone needs it, but this does not look good...

Actual rebate form was printed on the receipt pre-filled with all information so you may not need PDF rebate for at all.

Anyway all gone in the local store anyway.

Here's the https://www.microcenter.com/si...tml?product_id=0262782">4040 CN Link</a>. There's no rebate form linked anymore though. I happen to have a copy and can upload if anyone needs it, it's good for purchases at the Microcenter from 10/13 through 10/26 and must be postmarked by 11/10.

I should note that this was probably a mistake, as there is a $200 discount already. Normal price is $399.

FYI,

Spoke to CSR, these are backordered 2+ weeks, which is outside of rebate period. They are working with Brother to see if the rebate can still be honored. Said they should know something by Friday. I am going to cancel on Friday if not resolved.

Can someone please email me the rebate form?

I sent in everything, including the UPC. My rebate status says I have an invalid UPC. What B.S.! I called and they said they'll go ahead and process my rebate. Then they tell me the rebate is in the amount of $30 USD. What da freak? I think they made a mistake with the pricing and now they are trying to back out of it which is false advertisment.

CAn someone please email me the form since it can not be download from microcenter's website anymore. I have to send proof of the rebate for that it states it's good for $150.
