This is my humble desk... wish I could get another 20" WS to replace the 17" but that will come in time!

I like the desk and setup. And I know what you mean, I've got a 24 and 17 display, can't wait to drop the 17 for another 24

What table is that?

That desk is badass. Where did you get it from?

I got it from officefurniture.com... they don't carry it anymore (I got it ~1 1/2 years ago)

It was part of this series. I spent a good chunk of change on it, but it is an awesome desk. Very stout... weighs like ~600lbs, so not your run of the mill ikea desk

here is another pic of it when I first put it together (shitty quality pic again :/ )

is there anywhere you can go anymore to get a modern looking desk made out of solid hardwood?

I've bought my last MDF/particle board pos.

Sure you can but it will cost you an arm and a leg. Just go to any legit non chain furniture store. Lot's of such places specialize in solid wood stuff. But anything of reasonable size will cost you. Wood may be a renewable resource but it's getting more and more scare and good hardwood is hard to find at any reasonable price nowadays. Hell even soft wood is expensive.

Sweet rig. Main thing I would change is the video cards and the MB to support them. I like NVidia's SLI technology better than Crossfire.

Curious though have you had any problems running crossfire on any games? I wonder if the ATI crossfire drivers are better now than they were? Also, do you have any heat issues running 3 video cards? My experience with ATI cards are that they run hot.

Had SLI with two GTX 285s. After reading the GTX 480 reviews I immediately went with three 5870s. I'm pretty happy. Just wish there was a utility to create custom CrossFire profiles. Renaming executables works though.

:hmm:

What the hell is that gun thingy? It looks like it's a game accessory but I've never seen anything quite like that. :hmm:

It's a Novint Falcon controller. It is awesome and if you've never used one you should try it. It actually has a ton of kick when you turn the recoil up all the way :awe:

Up to 694 now.

f0ck thats a savage a mount of games! Are they all fully installed?!

They all fit on 4TB?

My computer setup right now consists of a couple of laptops and an ultra comfy leather recliner in the living room. It's what all the cool kids are doing. My office looks like a tomb where computers go to die.

I use to run a 24" and a 23" at home but I after I left home I have just left hat desktop pc at home. I just use the MacBook now...it's fine for one screen web browsing and light video editing. I would definitely hook up my screens if I needed to do any real work at home!

Hmmm... didn't know PC Gamer had something like that going on. I'll have to take some photos and a new screenshot.

I have a question for those people using mouse pads.

Do you actually use it for what it's meant for or just for the looks?

The reason I ask is because the last time I used one was when I used a mouse with the trackball on the bottom and you had to use them for traction and that was a very long time ago.

Ever since decent laser / light mice came around I have had no issue with them loosing track on wood surfaces.

I got a free mouse-pad as a promo with a system I built about 4 years back. It's an ad for the game Lot Planet and NCIX. I just use it because it was free. Truthfully though I like the feel of using some type, any type, of mouse pad over using my mouse on a bare table. It has nothing to do with tracking, I just like the feel of it on the underside of my palm. I especially like cloth pads though the one I have now isn't one. Hmm... maybe I'll pick up a steel series pad at work. :hmm:

I use it to keep the mouse from scratching the shit out of the surface finish on my desk.

i use it for whats its meant for. i got a giant pad for when i used to game more then i do now + it dbls as an arm rest/pad which keeps my arm from sticking to the desk in the summer.

yes mice track fine on whatever surface but a mouse pad in my experience is smoother
