I thought it was a well put together video.

jeeze that looks like fun

the porsche segment was spoogtacular! lol, didn't look like that beemer was up to it though

It is a ton of fun! While I'm not nearly as fast, or driving as cool of a car, or nearly as good as those guys, I love to participate. You don't need a super fast car or anything, you can take just about any other car to an event. It isn't difficult to get started if you're interested.

Yeah, that Porsche is wicked! It is a Porsche GT3 owned by someone down here in Florida and has attended a couple of our events. The driver during that event was also a Florida resident, Ian Stewart, and he is ungodly fast. He ended up winning the race in his class (Super Stock) with that GT3. He isn't a national champion yet (took 2nd last year at Nationals), but he definately going to win it some day. Its only a matter of time and I bet he'd win it this year. He usually drives his M3, but I would ditch that and drive a GT3 instead any day of the week .

Seriously, some of those guys are beyond fast. Driving the course is easy, but driving the course fast requires alot of talent. Some of those guys could beat your best time with your own car that they've never driven before, by a large margin with no sweat. You could swear you did it absolutely the fastest your car can handle the course, but they'll take a second off with no problem.

For example, last month I had 4 tries during the event, and my very best time ended up being a 35.308 on that particular course. I handed it over to a friend of mine to see what he can do. An awesome driver, he is an instructor at Skip Barber Racing School and has participated in some more professional/amateur racing. His first try out, he beat me by 1 second during a very sloppy run, and with me in the car. He had never driven the car before. I asked him what he thought he could do if he tried again, and he said he could easily shave a second off his time. That would have been 2 seconds off an already short course. 2 seconds is an eternity in this "sport".

It kinda baffles you how fast these guys can get. I am not trying to discourage people, but getting fast just requires seat time and experience. Some of those guys have had years and years of driving around participating in as many events as they can. You get better as you go along. I can easily say that I am much better now than I was 6 months ago, and hopefully I'll get even better with even more experience.

But yeah, it is alot of fun, and I encourage anyone who is remotely interested to try to participate in the events. It isn't hard to find a local club in your area. Here is a nice FAQ if you are interested in learning more.

God I really wish I could join, but I'm just lacking in the time and money department right now. Thanks for all the info tho. Definatly something I want to get into eventually.

Holy hell!!! What the sh!t was that?!?!

Yup Napolean Dynamite was HUGE with the kids this year. If I ever wanted to win them over all I had to do was crack a reference.
I remeber once I was talking to a fairly remedial high school english class about foreshadow and determining what may happen in the next sentence from clues given in the current sentence.

"If the author didn't give us context clues as to what we'll find in the cave, we could expect anything. Treasure, bears, bats,.... a liger."

Kids instantly started cracking up, even the big "hard" ganstas loosened up and started talking about the film, and I found something to connect them to the lesson.

I guess I'll post another video for the night crew.

the infamous

Alizee - J'en Ai Marre "sexy version" 95megs

Grab it while it's hot cause this is a top leech on my site and if it kills too much bandwidth this early in the month I'll have to nuke it.

tip: watch it with the volume off, but damn there are few things as sexy as a woman singing in french

Enjoy.
