I can't believe no one has listed my fav mp3 encoder LAME. Lame is best used with EAC as the front end but can also be used with RazorLame as the front end.

Be sure to check out Workin's FAQs about ripping and encoding for hints about how to use these great apps.

Wow, alot of useful programs.

Here's a few, not sure if they have been listed as I haven't read them all.

Analog X. Allows you to clear out you're RAM, manually or automatically.

Superfffast98!!!!. Faster use of you're hard drive, launches programs faster.

I'll post some more later

oh, and 'Bump'

If you're not sure if your program has been mentioned, just go to LiveLongAndProsper's compilation and check it out. No need to mention a program more than once unless you can give a more useful explanation of why it is useful.

Again, THANKS LiveLongAndProsper! What a way to start an AT career! You da man!

Thanks for posting the list you've got on yours, LiveLongAndProsper.

mariner--shouldn't you be working, instead of worrying about me? You actually do have to work.

MP3Gain

From the website:

MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume.

It does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear.

Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.

It works great!

I haven't seen Tree Size Pro listed here yet.

This program lets you look at your drives in a pie chart or bar chart according to size.....

I found this very usefull when clearing room for other stuff.

Up you go....

Here's a cool prog I just heard about. It will allow DOS games to be played with sound under Windows NT (incl 2000 and XP). Looks like it emulates a hardware device and can output your sound to either a sound card or to your hard disk.
