Shortly after election day, and given Trumps refusal to say if he will accept the election results, which anyone that has been paying attention knows that he won't, even if it is a landslide against him. Which of the following are likely, probable, possible, and remote?
  • Running gun battles in the streets between factions (not between citizens and LEO/NG)
  • Complete breakdown of federal government.
  • Constitutional crisis, 25th amendment, assassinations.
  • Martial law. (state or national)
  • National Guard patrolling our cities.
  • Nationwide curfew's.
  • Stock market crashes.
  • Economic depression
  • Stock market closed.
  • Shot on sight orders (as occurred in Detroit in the 67 race riots).
  • Transportation crippled resulting in shortages of essentials.
  • Infrastructure sabotage (power, water, natural gas, rail, roads)
Before you choose which are likely, probable, possible, and remote, keep in mind that we are dealing with a fucking mad man, who will throw the country under the bus because it is all about him.

It is going to get really fucking ugly, can the country we know survive?

None of that is going to happen.

America is 100% fine even if Biden gets elected or Trump gets re-elected. Nothing will go wrong, with either one of them. This is America, it what it is and it is 100% fine with what the Republicans and Democrats offer, ad infinitum.

None of the above. If Biden wins, there will be a few instances of right wing violence, and the fascist law enforcement that liberals have spent the summer criticizing will snuff it out.

If Trump wins and Democrats regain the Senate, expect impeachment redux.

If Trump wins and the GOP holds the Senate, I expect a lot of protests, probably some rioting and looting.

Stock market is up, rich people are getting richer, it is completely fine. No guillotines around butchering the very fine upper class. Completely fine, nothing has gone wrong in America. It is as it will always will be.

I've been told there is no second enlightenment. So, there is nothing to worry about definitely no deep festering resentment.

I think we should have a new one of these threads every day, they're just so informative!

My prediction is that Biden wins, Trump leaves after making all sorts of noise about cheating. Then Biden appoints Corn Pop as his chief of staff and hires nothing but women as staff so he can smell their hair.

The republic will stand.

Great, something else I can write about no good 40 stories high 700 mile wall Biden. He's a heretical necromancer to boot since "bad dude" William L. "Corn Pop" Morris has been dead since December 2nd, 2016!

the real question is how well the average person is doing, not the wealthy, they are barely affected by what's going on in the country as long as their stocks are doing good, they really don't give a fuck for the most part.

and unlike what the right says, they are not job creators, can't really create jobs if no one can afford what you're selling

I have a far right friend that says if trump loses all hell is going to break lose.

I have a more optimistic view.
I honestly expecting that it will be a shitshow either way, sadly. I'm hopeful that it won't, but I wouldn't put my money on it.

would still be incalculably superior to the dumpster fire of a self-dealing cabinet and admin that we currently have.

Trump wants to go. He's tired of the constant harassment, the inability to play golf whenever he wants. He'll still be able to have rally's and screw the American worker and contractor over when he's out of office. And on the bright side, Americans are stupid enough to elect one of his fine sons into office, so there's always that for him.

I bet he'd go in a heart beat if he could get an agreement that he would not be prosecuted for the numerous schemes he will probably go to jail for, once he's out of office.

I'm not sure why people believe this.

He wants the power. He doesn't care about the actual "responsibilities".

Social Dominators want to accrue and use as much power as possible, and they just don't care about doing what's right, unless it accidentally fits into their other plans.

If Trump didn't want to be President, he could resign right now and get a full pardon from Pence.

Winning is everything for Trump. He can't stand the idea of losing at anything.

"Shortly after election day" ???

Who says we will ever see an "election day" with Donald Trump as president?
As the election draws nearer and Donald Trump becomes more panicked, the only "out" that Donald trump will see for himself is to allow nothing to happen on November 3rd. If we have no election then Donald Trump doesn't have to leave. Right Donald? So... what could Donald do? Well, Donald could make the virus even worse thus warranting a last minute total nationwide election day shutdown. Or, Donald could claim some imminent national disaster is about to happen like a nuclear attack from Russia or space aliens running amuck in the streets of Washington DC. Or, and his best bet, enacting an executive order banning all elections.

What I wonder about is, if we DID have national chaos should Donald Trump lose the vote but with refusing to leave, what would the military do if called upon to act? Which side would our military align with? Lets say that the military still considers itself loyal to the national leader Donald Trump even though Donald Trump just lost the election, and should Trump claim that he is still the acting president because the election was rigged, would the military side with Donald Trump and consider Donald Trump as the acting president and as the only legitimate order giver? Would the military side with president elect Joe Biden? THAT is where this election could become really downright scary....

Should we have large numbers of people actually rioting in the streets, nationwide, city after city because Donald Trump lost but refuses to concede, I could see the American people getting a little upset to say the least. AND.... that would be justified because what Donald Trump would in fact be orchestrating is a government coup. A takeover of America. Imposing a dictatorship upon the American people. Ripping up the United States Constitution into teeny tiny pieces.
Under those circumstances, what would the military do? Which president would they side with?
Scary thought....

I just want to make sure I understand your prediction here.

He will make some noise for sure that will be dismissed and ignored. There will be a few news cycles of Constitutional crisis, and that will be the extent of it.

If its close and you can argue Trump won it by suppressing the vote and letting Russia do its thing, even laundering it through the GOP, I think you are going to see some “real” conservatives “speak up”. Not your geek kind of conservatives.

I think it strongly depends on how close the election is. If Biden blows him out Trump will accuse everyone of cheating but people won’t care that much and he will be forced to leave. Then conservatives here will say ‘I told you he would leave!’.

If it’s close and Biden wins though, Trump will provoke a real constitutional crisis and we will have a very dark national moment where republicans have to choose between winning and democracy. I have no idea what they will choose.

If Trump wins we are all fucked regardless, so no need to examine that.
