Nothing spectacular, but I figured I'd throw up some pics of my new Samsung 50" DLP (720p) that I picked up a couple days ago. It's replacing a 56" JVC 1080i CRT set - I was worried I'd be disapointed w/ the lower res, but I gotta say - this tv is gorgeous =) Have not calibrated it yet or really had time to mess around w/ it.

Sammy - w/ a big flash reflection =)

The HTIB I'm currently using (and, for now, perfectly happy with) is This one

We had an amp whose balanced in stopped working so I connected an unbalanced patch and connected the other end up to the XLR bridging the 1 and 3 pin. Works in a pinch.

I'm planning on moving all this soon, when it's done i'll take some more pics.

After getting yelled at by a bunch of AT'ers the last time I posted a picture, I added a black cardboard backdrop to my stand to hide my mess of wires.

This is what it looks like now.

YES, the cat is usually sitting there when the TV is on

lookin' good! How low do you cross your front stage into your subs? Seems to me you could get away with a very nice 45hz crossover which would eliminate almost any ability to localize the subwoofers.

Until I get a new pre-pro I have to set a single crossover for all my speakers, and I'm still using 80Hz.

I have subs on either side of the seating, so it seems less localized compared to when I had a single sub.

If I end up with
http://av123.wetpaint.com/page/RSC+500+Center+Channel
as a center channel eventually, I'll certainly be lowering the crossover for the front three speakers once I get the chance

 Everytime I see that "full-sized" center, I just laugh. Its almost, dare-I-say, a bit much

Oddly enough, it would have more bass capability than your 850sigs right? I think that center is similar in concept to the RS1000?

Yeah, it would be basically a RS1000 except two powered woofers vs. one.

That center is 4' wide?

Wouldn't that be a bit obtrusive?

It kinda looks like a coffin for an audiophile dwarf so it might add a bit of ambiance when watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

nice setup, things look a bit cramped in the picture, have you noticed the sound quality sounding that way? I figure that omni's want a lot of space around them to sound their best...?

No I asked Mirage about my setup and they said that as long as I have at least 2ft of rear clearance from the wall if the rear ports are not covered it is fine. I have also tried it with the 550's moved up and they sound the same.

I am moving in 2 weeks too so I will have a bigger living which will allow me to separate the speakers more and I will also experiment with toe in to see if anything changes. But after break-in they sound a lot better. I also have more power going to my fronts and the extra headroom has definitely helped the sound.

The screen shots suck, they do not do the actual image justice... I was too lazy to setup properly and do long exposure...Was shooting with a Lumix DZ8 and I wasn't expecting much on low light shots and I was right.

PS The room is about 300 Sq Ft, I appropriated one of 3 bedrooms we have on the second floor for my ht/computer room. To give you a bit of scale, the screen is about 2 metres wide.

edited to remove unintended smileys...

UPDATE 2007/12/10 Added a Toshiba A3 to the mix. Got Bourne Identity and 300 in the box, will get 3 more movies through mir.
