thats a nice stand, what brand and model?

It's actually from Best Buy. I think it was a Sauder, but I can't recall the model. It was only about $200.

Someone else asked about the TV. It is a 42" Sony LCD Projection...K42 something sticks in my head. I've had it about 2 years. I am itching to get an LCD flat-panel, but I am trying to resist.

JG's Living Room -- May 2008 Edition
[see bottom for device list]
[note: my wife's living room is on the flip side of the wall where the 70" is. She has my older 36" HDTV (CRT) and my older 5.1 audio setup; her couch is nicer, however, which keeps the older folks in her living room when they visit.]

Reciever: JVC RX8000V
Front: Infinity P162BK
Subwoofer: Infinity PS-12

I was thinking about getting a center, but I don't think it would fit for me and I have already spent too much for my taste.

I'll be taking the PS3 from my downstairs 52" TV so I can play it here once my component cables arrive from Monoprice

I need to get in on this thread, but I think I'll wait until I've got my surround sound system in place. Good stuff by other folks, though!

I finally cleaned up my place and took new pictures so I can share with everyone

Front view

Side view you can see how I hide the speaker cable for the rear by laying on top of the track lighting.

Movie night this is how it would look when watching a movie. I normally only use the rear lighting when watching a movie at night, gives it a nice look.

Specs:
Samsung 56" 1080p DLP
Yamaha RX-V461 5.1 reciever
Toshiba 1080i HDDVD

Klipsch 10" sub which sits in the corner behind one of the plants
Klipsch Synergy Quintet II

55 gallon fish tank with about 30 tropical fish
A 9 foot tall ficus and a 7 foot tall palm.

BTW it took about 3 hours to hang all those frames. I am still filling them up with pictures as I go.

B&K Reference 50 Series II Preamp

Anthem MCA 5 5-channels x 350 watts (4 ohm) Runs Center, surrounds, and rear speakers

McIntosh MC 2205 2 channel power amp 200watts x 2, runs right and left mains Easily exceeds that rating, and that's at 8 ohms...no telling what it actually produces with my 4 ohm setup. My dad bought this amp new in about 1977. Still is a fantastic amp.

Definitive BP 2002 Mains with built in powered subs.
Definitive Center (can't remember the model right now)
Definitive BP1x, I think, surrounds (4)

M&K V-75 Sub

Guess that's it. It's in my small living room...my house is decent sized...but for some reason, they made the living room small. This system will make it louder than you can stand it with no distortion and lots of clear bass...just like I like it.

I have been able to reach 102dB before my ears said no more!

Off to a movie now, I will add pics soon...

Had some updated:

Added:

Anthem PVA2 on Front Channels
Toshiba HD-A2 (yea, Blu-ray is the future, but at $100 with 5 free HDDVD, I could not pass!)
DVD-1920 replaced with DVD-2930
DVD-2930CI Broke, replaced with DVD-2910CI
DVD-2910CI has issues, will replace with DVD-2500BDCI when it gets in

Now I need to figure out how to convert HDMI only from 2500BDCI to Coax Audio and HDMI Video...
Built New stand from Hard Maple and Slate Tile

Probably the last upgrades for a while...baby one on the way!

~R~

So I thought it was the last update, but then I got a deal on an Anthem PV7. Best purchase I have made hands down. Did not realize how much better it would sound, but it made a great difference.

Then for fun, I bought my Wife a Wii for our anniversary (in case you were wondering, she wanted it and I am not a big gamer).

4 weeks before the little one comes, I am sure he can enjoy the Theater as well!

Kind of recent pictures (PV7 and Wii missing)...yea, I got to work on the lights, but the love sac blocks them from my seat so no big deal.

We upgraded a few things recently in the basement TV/music room:

-Painted the walls
-Put up room-darkening honeycomb blinds
-Covered the paneling with the same black felt that's behind the TV stand
-Replaced the rear Promedias with a pair of RS-25s and ran a new Audyssey setup

Here it is.

To put this in perspective, that's a 55" KDS-55A3000. Other gear in the photo that might not be immediately recognizable:
1. Sony STR-DA2400ES receiver
2. PSB Image T65s (I forgot to remove the grills for the photo, sorry)

The side surrounds (not pictured) are Infinity RS5 towers. The wall-mounted rear surrounds (also not pictured) are Polk RT25s. Still no center (looking for a cheap C60) or subwoofer (planning on getting an ED A2-300).

I'm mostly done with the setup, but do have a few things I want to add in the future:
1. The aforementioned sub and center.
2. A universal remote (I'm expecting a Harmony One for Chanukah).
3. Uplighting for the back of the TV - preferably a 6500k white led strip.
4. A DVD/BR-D streamer or mega changer (the PS3 sucks for home theater, IMHO).
