Ok, let me see if I can help you out.

The first thing I'd do is put your AVR where your PS3 is, and put your PS3 on top of your stand. That in itself will hide a lot of the wires. Next, swap the places with your Wii and keyboard, keyboard on top. After that, if you can, drill a hole in your wall behind your center speaker and fish the speaker wire down behind your stand. And finally, get some flat HDMI cables (regular HDMI may work too) and install a wire conduit to conceal the wires going from your TV to your AVR. I'd also paint the molding the same color as your walls to blend it in more. If you'd like, you can also run those cables (HDMI) through the wall, but you'll need to have an electrician install the power box behind your TV because you cannot run the power cord inside the wall. This is a cleaner but more expensive solution, so I'd recommend the wire conduit instead. It will still look nice. And will look 100x cleaner than what you have right now.

Don't get me wrong, you've got a nice set up. But if you invest some time and a little extra money (~$20-$30), your set up will look MUCH nicer.

I'd go ahead and put the center speaker below the TV, it would be close to the height of the front L/R speakers and that center cable could easily be hidden from there into the receiver. Plus, the center speaker might block the TV cable from being seen as an added bonus!

The avr barely fits where the PS3 is, I've tried it before. Not even a half in of breathing room on top so thats not an option. The center channel wire will be remedied soon, and the speaker is angled down towards the seating area. I plan on getting an HDMI wall jack. For the power cord, I'll probably just do the conduit. I had plans for all of this but the project lost a bit of steam, got tired of cutting holes in my walls and crawling under the house.

Nice! Not to many fans of Rotel except for audiophiles with no money! I've got a Rotel RB-985 (older version of your 1070). I auditioned a 1075 but did not like it at all. It was used so who knows if it was ok but it was the brightest Rotel gear I've ever heard. Held lower octaves better than the 985 but I love how smooth the 985 is.

I'll have to take some pics of my system in my new house.

The rotel gear is certainly a nice stop gap. I don't think the 1075 is supposed to be bright at all. Then again, most ss amps sound the same to me at low-moderate volumes. They only become "defective" in sound at high volumes and tough speaker loads in my experience. You really have to cater your amplifier purchase to the speaker you have and the room you have, otherwise you can definitely hear the lackings of the amp. That doesnt mean you have to spend big money though, just means you have to spend the time to research which amplifiers can drive the specific load in the room.

I'm just going to say flat out that I've heard differences in sound characteristics in almost every component of my system. While I can understand many people's disbelief that it is possible I'll just kindly refute them and grin as I listen to my system. I've heard differences in cables, components, and obviously speakers. I happen to believe that besides speakers, an amp has the most impact on the sound. I don't believe it is merely due to distortion etc.

I would like to audition tube gear some day as I prefer a warm, laid back, almost dark presentation. I bet I'd love vinyl as well.

It is something that people just have to figure out for themselves. For me, I participated in level matched double blind tests and found that if you pair the speaker and amplifier to the room accordingly, it should operate correctly.

If you have speakers that have low impedance and worse than 40 degree phase angle, it is pretty obvious that the amplifier has got to be strong in driving those loads and be able to effectively dissipate the heat generated. Of course, this information is not completely obvious unless the equipment has been scrutinized by good measurements.

Since amplifiers commonly measure differently in terms of how they react to different loads, it is not difficult to realize that an incorrect pairing of equipment to speakers can lead to a less-than optimal sound quality.

Not all tube gear grants a dark presentation, and certainly, there are many speakers that will sound like crap with tube gear due to load mismatches in addition to sensitivity issues.

Actually, the room has the biggest impact on sound. Fix your room acoustics and any decent system will sound great.

Unless you've done extensive double blind testing then your "refutation" doesn't hold much (any) water.

What kind of subwoofer is that?

It's from an internet direct company, Audio Concepts, Inc. They have been in the business since about 1980 and they make both speakers and subwoofers. Excellent craftsmanship, excellent sound quality, and excellent customer support. An in-store brand that is commonly compared to it is the Velodyne DD-18, although the original target market of the ACI subwoofers was to be compared favorably against REL subwoofers. Of course the DD-18 has an advantage due to it's integrated auto-PEQ, however, this advantage comes at a much higher cost.

If you have experience with these subwoofers, how does it compare to a Paradigm Signature Servo or an Axiom Epicenter 600? I personally love the Paradigm Signature Servo.

The Paradigm Signature Servo is a very excellent subwoofer. I would say it is in the same class of the Maestro XL and Velodyne DD-18.

The Axiom 600 is a ported design contrasting from the aforementioned 3 subwoofers. I don't have any auditioning experience with it unfortunately.

The Definitive Technology Trinity subwoofer is an excellent subwoofer also in the same class of the Maestro XL, Paradigm Sig Servo, and DD-18, although I believe it is a 4th order design with several passive radiators.

JL Audio F112 is roughly the same while the F113 pulls slightly ahead.

Of course, there are several offerings from other internet direct brands that would most likely pose a better deal than the Axiom 600. Naming a few, the epic conquest, ed a7-900 are massive performers, but not great on cosmetics (important to me if the subwoofer is to be visible within the room). SVS PB-13 is another huge hit, as well as the new HSU ULS-15 and the AV123 MFW-15, and the Seaton Submersive. All of these I have not heard, but have objectively outperformed the Maestro XL.

The Paradigm Signature Servo is never boomy and is very musical. A jazz musician playing the bass just sounds so natural and live which is something most subwoofers cannot do.
