Pioneer Elite SC-07 AVR with Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD Blu-ray player

XBox 360 Elite with PS3 60GB (original wih full PS2 backwards compatibility and SACD support)

The speakers are old DCM speakers which will be upgraded soon. HDTV is provided by AT&T U-verse.

I'm planning to add a few things to my Salamander and like I said, upgrade my speakers, so I'll post pictures when everything is complete.

I've been eying those Salamander Synergy stands. I like the way it looks

Any idea what speakers you would be moving up to?

Thanks Tiamat. It actually looks better in person. And it is SOLID. I really love it. However, I still need to add a few more things to the stand. I need the display mount so I can place the center speaker right underneath the TV. I also need to get some wheels so I can pull it out and get to the connections easier. And finally, three more shelves. After that, I'm going to add bias lighting to it, and I'm done.

As for speakers, I'm looking to get some Paradigm Signature S4s for the fronts, Signature C3 for the center and I'm not too sure about the rears. It is either 2 more S4s or ADP3s.

Paradigm is allowing those specific speakers to be on sale at their authorized dealers. YMMV, but that is the case for Spearit sound for example.

What do you mean? They wouldn't let dealers put them on sale before? Also, do you have any good recommendations for Paradigm dealers? I have one close, but their prices aren't that great.

I believe Paradigm is one of several manufacturers that specify pricing for their speakers, so it wouldn't matter if you were buying at ABC or XYZ stereo store, you'd be paying pretty much the same thing unless, of course, you found them from a non-authorized seller like on Ebay which would likely void the warranty.

In other news, my living room:

Text

That's a Pioneer 6020 plasma.
3x Definitive Technology Mythos 10 speakers
Pioneer BD55 blu ray player
Onkyo receiver... to be honest, as I sit here at work, I have no idea what the model # is.

Ah, ok. Well they offered me 10% off so I guess I'll wait for the sale to see if it is less than that. Otherwise I'll just take the 10% off.

Oh and BTW, how's the roof holding up Jeeebus?

They do not allow "sales" typically. However, on specific occasions, they want to boost their volume numbers and they will allow some of their better authorized dealers to sell their speakers at a even more discounted price than usual. Spearit sound is one of such dealers that I have done business with in person. Additionally, they typically do not allow internet purchase of their speakers. This is one rare exception. Of course, i would not recommend purchasing without first auditioning.

A good dealer will treat you with respect. This is something you can tell the second you walk into the place. There are many places which will glare at you, those are the places you choose not to take your business to. Frankly, price is secondary to customer service at these places as there may be hidden perks (like sell back your mint condition gear after 1 year for full value towards buying an upgrade).

LINK

I'd say 10% is a standard discount.

Alright

I was going to clean it off a bit before taking better pictures of it

(I'm too slow and lazy to have done that yet though)

Your center speaker is too small.

I like the rack!

I've been checking their updates daily and based off those posts, things are certainly moving along.

I hope that the forum will open back up within a month since they seem to be wrapping up most of the "loose ends" to put it nicely.

I picked up a lovely pair of '86 Black Birch La Scalas for a ridiculous price.

La Scala 1

La Scala 2

La Scala 3

That is a temporary positioning until I get a new spool of wire for my rears. Then I'll move the rack over a few feet to the left, slide the speaker in that spot, and run a new Audyssey setup.

I just wanted to add in case others were looking in this thread, that I ordered my front three from AV123 last week and got them in 4 business days via ups ground. Their phone CSR was very nice and helped me save a few bucks in shipping. I know they had some issues, but I thought I would share my experience since their product(s) is blowing me away.

Did I remember that you also had 2 smaller vintage Klipsch speakers?

Man, must be nice being able to have only 1 watt of power and still blow the windows out

No, that was me.

I have Cornwalls and Heresys. The La Scalas are a step up from the Cornwalls. They were designed as a commercial version of the Klipsch Horn, but allowing for flexible placement than the Klipsch Horn. They will knock the dust off the ceiling.

Yep. Heresy II's. I still have them and they will be moved to a dedicated 2 channel system I'm setting up for my turntable and CD player. I just have to find a sweet deal on a tube amp.

Heresy II's

Why yes, yes it is. That said, the 'Scalas bring a new dimension to the HT. But they also expose my center and sub's weakness. Those two were a pretty nice match with the Heresy II's. Not so much now. Audyssey will balance it out some what...

I have some plans to mod the La Scalas later on down the road.
