My setup in India right now. Ghetto, I know. When I move to a nicer more "modern" apartment I will get a real TV stand and serious audio equipment.

Fry's had a pretty good sale on the Sony 55EX500 for $900 last week (reg price was $1700), so I sold my 3yr old 46V2500 (was $1400 IRC) that was hanging on the wall in my master bedroom to a friend for $600...

That 9" makes a huge difference....(that's what she said!!!! LOL)

old Sony

new Sony

Well, here's mine. I live in an apartment (obviously).

Vizio VF550M 55" LCD
Yamaha HTR 6240 receiver
Fronts: Polk RTi10
Center: Polk CSi3
Rear/surround: JBL TLX LR1000

I finally took pictures, everything is updated to what is currently installed. Sold a bunch, bought a bunch.

Here is my man cave.

JVC RS35 1080p Projector
123" Stewart Filmscreen Studiotek 130 G3
Denon 4810 to a Outlaw 7700
Polk LSI 7.3 Matched, LSI 15 L & R, LSiC for Center and 2 sets of LSIFX for SL, SR, SBL and SBR. Moved B & W 803's, into living room for music listening and sold the HTM and 805s's. Might buy some Theil's at some point but with a new baby I hate to say I only have 150 hours on the projector in almost a year...almost all my watching gets done on a crappy LED-Vizio with a Yamaha 4100 .
Whole room fully insulated for sound, although it does get a bit hot.
Core i7 980x w/ 2 Blu-Ray drives for recording and encoding.
2x HD-PVR and 2 1850 Hauppauge Cards
24TB online storage shared with my wife's media computer and shared through the house via extenders. 8TB Local in Raid 5, 8TB in her computer and 8TB in NAS.

I'm moving this month, and ordered new speakers. Next up is going to be a new stand for the TV and equipment. I already have some plans for it, but due to still renting I'm not sure what all I'll be able to do. We will see though.

*SNIP*

I would be very hesitant to use anyone's offsets but your own. Buy a nice colorimeter and you will be shocked at the difference it makes. I used offsets at one point from avsforum on a pio elite I had. After purchasing an eye-one the difference from my own calibration was noticeable however when I got a better eye (chroma 5 pro) the difference was outstanding.

There is simply no way to tell if the offsets actually make the picture closer to D6500 farther from D6500 or the individual colors when you have the ability to offset via a CMS any better or worse without an eye, so why not just tweak everything yourself anyway?

The offsets can provide a starting point but blindly using them without calibration will often make the picture look worse, not better.

upgraded my center channel speaker from a Thiel SCS4 to MCS1 few days ago. http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/richardyc/ht2.jpg

Anyone looking for a SCS4 in like new condition?

Congrats! I always liked the CS2.4's. I couldn't get them because my room was too small at the time (the coincident drive and bass driver need at least ~8 feet between it and the listener for proper acoustical uniformity due to the first-order crossover and physical separation of drivers) so I settled for what I have now, B&W 804s. I met Jim a few years ago prior to his passing when he was showing off his 3.7s at the local dealer. I don't know how his company will be able to survive since he was the brains of the innovation that occurred there. I hope they find a way to keep innovating in this rough economy.

That new center should be a marvelous addition to your system!

Surrounds to the left and right back corners of the couch and a sub off to the left. The cat improves the audio quality immensely.

Planned purchases, not in any particular order:
New tv stand with a mount for the display so I can have the center on the top shelf and stuff on the bottom two shelves
A sofa/bed thing probably from ikea provided I find it as comfortable as my current mattress (and of course I'd get rid of my mattress/box spring)
Maybe some taller stands for the rear speakers as well (those are cheap sanus 24" stands, there are 31" versions available for around the same price)

goobernoodles: perhaps you can mount the TV higher and then get the center up a little bit when you upgrade your stand? How do you like the HSU?

I would have liked to have gotten a vtf-15h (or another sub of the same caliber), but I just couldn't afford it.

That center channel might be small enough to fit under a TV riser, so he could put it one shelf up...or he could just put a cloth on top of it and let the tv sit on top.

Philips 47" LCD
Onkyo TX SR505
Polk Audio Monitor 60's (fronts)
Polk Audio CS1 (center)
Polk Audio RM6751 (surround)
Polk Audio powered sub (replaced 8" sub with a Rockford Punch 8")

All work was done by me, including building the entertainment center from scratch.

Enjoy!

Projector setup in my bedroom

Mitsubishi HD3800D w/ 106" motorized screen (combo from costco)
Xbox 360
Sony BDP-BX37 bluray player
Vizio VSB210ws soundbar + wireless sub
monoprice 4x1 hdmi switch
harmony 650 remote

I love the setup, though it is a little ghetto assembled. I even like the soundbar for it's single point setup and ease of use, however it stops working during really loud scenes (like explosions) but the sub keeps on thumping, I still need to troubleshoot.

Hello-

Long time AT reader, I used to post in the motherboard & video card forums quite a bit 5-6 years ago.

Loved browsing all the great ht setups in this thread almost since it started.

I have been piecing together some parts for the last year or two but it has been slow because of a demanding work/travel schedule.

This setup is in a temporary location in my house till i remove/rearrange some of the furniture.

Components:

Amp - Emotiva XPA-2
Preamp / DAC - Benchmark DAC1 PRE
Power - Belkin PF60 (line conditioner powering everything except the xpa2)
Speakers - Monitor Audio Silver RX8
Monitors - Samsung UN40c7000 & SyncMaster 275T

HTPC: (almost silent..)

Motherboard - Asus P6X58-EPRO
Memory - 12 gig G.Skill 1600 cas 7
CPU - i7 960 (temp borrowed till gulftown price drops)
GPU - Asus engtx480 1.5g (temp borrowed till more info on 600 series)
HD - Intel 510 250g ssd
PS - Seasonic X-850 gold
OS - Win 7 pro 64
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-C12P

Media Server -

Old Asus nforce 200 939
Dual core opteron
Dual gbe
ubuntu 10.10
lsi megaraid 9260-4i
WD RE3 1TB x 4 (raid 6)
WD Blue 320
PC P&C 650 watt

PS3 hiding in the back

Interconnects - all high quality.
PC -> DAC via USB (not async)

Music playback is via Foobar2000 using the WASAPI (windows exclusive mode) component. Most of my music is flac with some hbr mp3.

Most audio playback is decoded externally.

Just added a xbox 360 controller for Track Mania 2!

I've really enjoyed all the posts thus far, thanks everyone!

ps - All the cables running out the front are to the 275T display and a usb hub. Also i have a few stainless component racks but they do not fit in the current location due to the wood burning stove...

Picked up a new receiver. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in my entertainment center now, and sits on the floor =(
