House. My neighbors haven't complained once, which means my system is not nearly as capable as I'd like it to be I need multiple & more capable subs

Here are some pics of mine. It started like this:

And ended like this (though now in the basement and that room has been turned into a sitting room):

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

What is a theater without a popcorn machine?

Still have a few touch ups to do, some window treatments to add, and some first reflection sound absorbtion panels to build, but it is almost done.

Not the best set up, but it works. Looks pretty much the same but now I have a 2 foot long mouse pad. I still need to paint my desk, maybe in a month or two soon as work slows a little. I'm thinking either black on all of it, or black on the desktop and then paint the legs to match my speakers.

Hi guys,

Recently moved into my new apartment and have "finalized" my setup (at least for a while). I wish the room was bigger for more ideal placement (and that godforesaken power cable you can see draping down the wall is killing me), but it'll have to do for now.

Equipment:

Panasonic Viera PG-50GT50
Pioneer VSX-1121
Emotiva UPA-2
Vienna Acoustics Schonberg (x2)
Vienna Acoustics Webern
Monitor Audio Radius 360
Pro-ject Debut Carbon
Tivo Series4
Xbox 360
WDTV Live Plus
BDI Oden 9940

I love it - like I said I wish the acoustics of the room were better (and any suggestions for improvements would really be appreciated), but either way it brings me an immense amount of joy to come home after work and listen to music/watch a movie.

Here are my speakers. Dave Ellis' 1801 design, built by Jim Salk from Salk Sound and finished in Maple Burl. They are awesome! Fed by Sonos through an LFD Audio Mistral LE amp. I would love to add a tube DAC.

Thanks!

I have a 106 in 16:9 screen.
Projector: Panasonic PT-AE4000.
Plasma: Panasonic TH-PZ7000U 42 inch
HTPC: Intel 7200 Dual Core, 4BG RAM, HD-DVD/BluRay Combo Drive, 6TB HDD storage, Win7 64, 7MC, Media Browser, TMT5, InfiniTV4 CableCard Reader.
AVR: Onkyo TX-NR3010
Speakers:
-FL/FR: Paradigm Millenium 200s
-Center: Paradigm Millenium Trio, using the two outer speakers wired in parallel as one large 4 Ohm speaker
-Side Surrounds: (2) Axiom Audio Wall Mount M3s per side, wired in parallel as one large 4 Ohm speaker. This is done due to the shape of the room.
-Rear Surrounds: Axoim Audio Wall Mount M2s
-Front Heights: Axiom Audio Wall Mount M0s
-Subwoofers: (2) Dayton Audio 1200s
Seating:
-Front Row: Four Fusion Jives (from rttheaters.com) setup as two loveseats. Powered recline, cup holders, and food trays stored in the arms.
-Back Row: Two Fusion Tributes setup as two loveseats. Powered recline, cup holders, and food trays stored in the arms.

The room is double drywalled with Green Glue acoustic paste between the layers. There is a false wall between my room and the cinderblock wall seperating my townhome from my neighbor. The ceiling is a layer of OSB, green glue, then drywall and uses whisper clips and hat channel to decouple it from the joists. The door is a solid core door. All the outlets have puddy coating them to prevent the noise from leaking out and the ventillation return travels the angled route of the soffit an the front of the room.

The rear is set on a two step up riser, total of 13 inches high. It also acts as a broadband base absorber. I just got back my first test print from Spoonflower...they put your pictures onto fabric - you can buy acoustically transparent fabric from them to use in building your own sound absorbers. The print I just received is going to be put on a removable bracket and placed over the reflective face of the plasma TV. My wife and I are designing the others to use as first order reflection absorbers - and also look like Steelers pictures on the walls. I get my geek on and she gets her team displayed - a win win. Pics will go up once completed. Plates are being manufactured at rttheaters.com (where I bought my chairs) designed to hold Buttkickers. I have some already and am waiting on the plates to mount them.

I asked my neighbor if she ever hears my theater room explosions, etc. She said no...that she has to occasionally check to make sure we are actually alive!. I also cannot hear anything in the upstairs room when playing a movie in the theater.

/drool soon my child soon

It's twin is on its way. Cant wait

Modeling puts these 2 subs without room gain at 109db at 10hz, 120db at 20hz, and 130db at 80hz. I think Ill feel sick and destroy the house before maxing these out.

what are you gonna power these with? clone?

Nah I decided to not go with the clone since it would nuke the subs if I went much beyond 1/4 power so instead I went with a marathon 5050hz and did a fan mod on it. Not to mention I dont have the power to support a clone yet, I would need atleast a 30amp line and preferably 220v. Maybe someday but not until I get a real dedicated basement for this kinda thing, along with a new house.

Building my 3D room now (10.5 ft wide 1.78 image):

My main theater room is a scope (2.4 Aspect ratio) at 14.5ft wide (I think 175" diagonal, I forgot). It is just framed and wired right now so there's no picture to show.

Here is when I had it setup in my living room:

Nice! I'm still saving up for my theater which will have a similar construction. Been saving for 3years but have a long ways to go before I can afford the design I had dennis Erskine make for me.
