The room is double drywalled with Green Glue acoustic paste between the layers. There is a false wall between my room and the cinderblock wall seperating my townhome from my neighbor. The ceiling is a layer of OSB, green glue, then drywall and uses whisper clips and hat channel to decouple it from the joists. The door is a solid core door. All the outlets have puddy coating them to prevent the noise from leaking out and the ventillation return travels the angled route of the soffit an the front of the room.
The rear is set on a two step up riser, total of 13 inches high. It also acts as a broadband base absorber. I just got back my first test print from Spoonflower...they put your pictures onto fabric - you can buy acoustically transparent fabric from them to use in building your own sound absorbers. The print I just received is going to be put on a removable bracket and placed over the reflective face of the plasma TV. My wife and I are designing the others to use as first order reflection absorbers - and also look like Steelers pictures on the walls. I get my geek on and she gets her team displayed - a win win. Pics will go up once completed. Plates are being manufactured at rttheaters.com (where I bought my chairs) designed to hold Buttkickers. I have some already and am waiting on the plates to mount them.
I asked my neighbor if she ever hears my theater room explosions, etc. She said no...that she has to occasionally check to make sure we are actually alive!. I also cannot hear anything in the upstairs room when playing a movie in the theater.
