cellphone pic, so quality sucks, but im really happy with this setup

Speakers: Q Acoustics 2010i
"htpc": Cubox i4-pro (if anyone looking at something with more juice than a raspberry pi, consider this)
Software: xbmc (gotham beta 3)
DAC & AMP: Maverick Audio, via optical

Sound is remarkably clean. love that i can finally turn music up without fatigue

At somepoint i might have a seperate microSD card loading a Volumio or Runeaudio build, depending on whoever supports the cubox better, just to test how much extra acoustical benefit can i squeeze from this setup.

will also use the desktop via USB, but exclusively for gaming, some repairs in order first.

Oooh. Interested to hear your feedback on this. Those little guys are intriging, especially for the cost. Have some obvious skepticsm on their output due to the small size of the drivers, but loaded horns do some crazy things to small speakers.

Let us know what you think.

i hooked them up today and their output is pretty great for the amount of power they take ~125 WPC. i still need to finish them but in a small to medium space 2-4 of these can really thump from 25-100Hz, if you want the real low end you will need to build something bigger.

still need to mess with the EQing. just using the HP/LP right now but they sound good

still need it to be less crappy outside so i can finish them. they are being powered by an iNuke 1000 DSP

At least turn your speakers so that the tweeters face outwards.
They seem perfectly fine where they are.

But actually I had thought of lowering the TV, putting the center on the stand and putting the JVC's on the sides, but my wife actually likes it the way it is.

The center Pioneer is pretty new, just haven't rearranged things lately really. just making a extension to fit it in when I got it hanging out on laminate was to get it into the system.

Used to have a detachable sound bar on the bottom end of the TV that I detached and was using as a center.

The Pioneer a very nice upgrade.

That's actually laminate flooring extending from under the TV and it hangs out the front atm, things need to be rearranged a bit but I wanted it working.

it's a large center channel, it actually sounds good hanging out there in front of the screen like that.

My whole sound systems in the house have evolved over time since about 1980, it's just an ongoing thing.

This is about as much of a home theater as I care to have. A 55" PS4 for movies and Astro HP's. I used to have large speakers, receiver and all that but I hated the differences in how loud everything is between music and action vs talking and quiet scenes, drove me nuts.

Looking for an all in wall setup for my new house, looking at an all Def Tech high end system, 7.2 surround sound. Can anyone suggest a solid receiver for this setup?

yea notnyt has an insane system. as do a few others over there. ive heard some of them and they sound amazing.

Lots of guys running 8 subs (mostly sealed 18s) a few running 16 and a cpl looking to go to 32

some of the guys i know had the 24" guy running this past weekend and it is the real deal.

I think not said his wall was 24 or 25 feet wide. His subs and speakers definitely make everything else look small in comparison.

lol yea the LCR are using 15" drivers, as big as your JTRs are there are truly some monsters out there. Andrew the guy you got your Caps from is running a LCR with the Yorkville Unity 215s now, and they are massive

Bass is good, I think this would be overkill though. People like it though. Many of my friends have really nice systems yet way too much LFE/Bass.

Personally, I'd have to hear this guys system myself to score it, but that is a lot of stuff in that sized room.
