Nice setup @Exterous , I like the false wall idea and once it's complete it will look awesome. I was contemplating that but I decided against it just for space purposes, and since I had room for speakers around my screen I just went that route. As much as I like the clean look of transparent screens, there is something that is badass about the aggressive look of big ass speakers too.

is that a 5.1.4 or do you have 4 surround speakers? for a 7.1.4? Looks good. I do wonder how that center channel holds up. I would add 1 more sub for that room size. For sound treatment look into knauff. They make a 703 equivalent without the off gassing of formaldehyde. Cover it with acoustical fabric. 2" should be enough for positive results if placed everywhere.

It's a 5.1.4. The center holds up very well (although I have since titled it up a bit and should find a better way to position it) with very clear vocals. There is a Johnson Manville reseller not too far away so I was going to price out their stuff but I'll see about knauff too. I have thought about a second sub but want to see where treating the room gets me first.

Thanks! While I do like the look of speakers this allowed for a larger screen, better speaker placement and I could buy blemished fronts at a noticeable discount

the more you treat your room the less boomy your sub will become. You may perceive a loss of bass but its just becoming more accurate.

I'm certainly no expert but my understanding is that the reflections from the untreated corners can cancel out frequencies from the sub. There are certainly some uneven responses in the room

they can also amplify certain frequencies. If you want to go nuts get into a rew software system (freeware) with an ok omni mic. You will figure out your room real quick. Moving your sub just 6 inches can create totally different results so just move and listen from your sweet spot.

For sure. I'm a little familer with REW and have been looking at mics but might also be able to borrow one from work. If that works out it'll be closer to the time when I have a weekend to make the panels

If you're pretty serious about the room you should probably buy a mic. You can get a calibrated one for a little over $100. I have hundreds of hours into REW and that mic has paid for itself multiple times over.

PC not home theater. Just have the Bose 300 setup for that.

Used to hate RGB, now fun to play with. Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 headset, with the Nommo Pro. To me, both sound amazing. I am not real audiophile though, and my hearing is pretty bad anymore. Speakers hooked up via optical, headset with normal jacks. Can you split an optical somehow? Is there an aftermarket sound card that has two? I havent used an aftermarket sound card in years, but I would if I could do this. I'd like to have both as optical if possible.

Edit, would the sub turned up interfere or damage anything in the PC? Its about 8" away from the tower on the ground. Its got some punch, aside from screws coming lose from time to time, anything else?

Added some upgrades to my Home Theater / PC Gaming setup.

Klipsch 5.1.2 setup
- (2) R-28F front
- (2) RP-140SA top front
- (1) R-25C center
- (2) R-26F rear
- (1) R-10SW sub
- Denon S920W receiver
- LG 65" C8 TV

Purchased the R-28F speakers to replace the R-26F in the front. The R-26F went to the back which replaced smaller R-15M speakers I had on pedestals (those went to the bedroom with a 70" KU6300). The RP-140SA speakers sound great when Dolby Atmos is enabled in movie or PC games. Also purchased a Logitech Harmony 950 to replace a Harmony 350 (which also goes to the bedroom). It's an awesome remote if you like micro-managing your setup like I do.

You use an OLED for a PC display? How do you deal with image retention/burn in?

I don't use it for work / productivity. It's used mainly for gaming, movies, and light browsing. I rotate through various games on the PC. Varied content is the key to reducing burn in. I've had it for four months and there is no sign of burn in. I have it on between 4 to 8 hours each day.

The image quality is by far the best out there.

I'm a big tube fan for sure. Actually looking for another tube amp to add to my desk. I have a budget of around $1200 and looking to buy used. So many options though...good lord.

Looks very nice and clean. I love those floors.

TV is mounted way too high for my likings though. Do you get a lot of sound reflections from the floor? It looks like it would be echoing quite a bit.

The room is hard but I haven't noticed too much echo so far. Hopefully as more pictures etc get hung on the walls and maybe a center throw rug will soften things a bit. I would actually like to move the TV down to where it just clears the center at some point.

I'd like to use the basement as a big home theater, but it needs to be finished and I'd also have to toss lots of junk, cuz right now its a big concrete storage locker.
