playing fort by herself

How can pugs actually focus their eyes? Whenever I see a pug I can't help but feel their eyes are cock eyed and they must see double, lol. Course that why people like them I guess ugly and cute at the same time :awe:

This is tiffy, the long hair chihuahua. She absolutely love affection & to be cuddled all the time. She is about 12 years old

This is Banshee, the red nose pitbull. 3 years old and it's very dumb. She is very protective of my girlfriend or girls in general and listen very well. Never disobey an order unless it's something to do with protecting the girlfriend/property. Haven't bite anyone yet though but I'm sure she would if someone break in

Aww she's a cutie. I don't tend to like aggressive breeds but love the look of her!

She is only aggressive if you're a threat to the pact (our family). Great dog for home protection & can be the sweetest thing on earth with her undying loyalty/love.

Sadly most pit owners think this way yet have dogs that go after everything. Not saying this is your case at all.

I like the pitbull terriers, but out of 10 that come to the dog park I go too...you may have 1 that is really a safe dog.

One of the biggest things I will complain about are the asshats that bring their dogs there with spiked collars on still. A spike collar is like giving your kid a knife to go play at the park with.

Cute pup =)

'course I'm biased being an UW alumn.....GO DAWGS!

As for the walking- wish I could help ya w/ that one, but you better get it under control before he/she (?) gets to be full grown...have you gone to any obedience classes? maybe a consult w/ a trainer?

Hehe, thanks

He actually is now 12months.. yes, we have gone to obediance class - TWICE.. I will totally admit to having problems being firm with him. Walking him alone is fine, but we have two grown huskies and they howl if we walk them separately. The pulling problem is generally only when they are walked together.. which is everyday! UGH!!

As far as professional Husky trainers - I cannot find one near where I live (in NZ)! Sigh

You really can't classify a breed on simple obedience other than owner's making excuses.

These work well: http://www.buygentleleader.com/View.aspx?page=dogs/products/behavior/gentleleader/description

I needed to use it for only about a week.

You need to reinforce it with "HEEL", now my guy walks without pulling. I don't make him say in heel position except crossing roads and when people are walking by.

Just curious- was there a reason that you stopped using it after a week? Did the dog not like it? Or just easier using a regular collar?
I've seen those around but hadn't looked in to them much - looks like they work pretty well.

i think you'll enjoy a goldendoodle. they don't shed and they're very loving, loyal, and protective (but not violent) dogs. poodles were bred to be obedient retrievers and goldens were bred to be the quintessential family dog. they're really friendly dogs.

Once he was trained I didn't need to use the special collar any more.

the dog is probably going to freak out at first...this is normal. Let them deal with it.

The video is very good they include.

I actually have the easy walker. Works great! Although, I wouldn't have been able to put the gentle leader anyway...

harnesses were never meant for walking a dog, the 'easy walker' was designed for people that don't get that.

Thing that bothers me are people who muzzle their dogs. If it's so aggressive that you have to muzzle it in public then sorry you raised it wrong and it really should be put down. I dislike aggressive breads in general but know that they CAN be raised properly and not be nearly as aggressive, though I would never trust them around children as some do. Even our dog which was as tame as a rabbit (she was a lab [~90%] Doberman [~10%] mix) we were careful with around small children. Children can spook even the mildest of dogs.
