Mods: Techtonics Stainless 2.25 cat back, Techtonics highflow cat, dual/down exhaust manifold conversion, K&N, Techtonics 268 cam, Autotech short-shift, Neuspeed upper stress bar, Bilstien/Hor suspension, MSW Type 55 w/ Dunlop 205/45/16 Sport W10

Sciroccos are nice. Especially in the 16V variety (complete w/ factory suspension and factory 4 wheel discs).

The nice thing about Corrados (the Scirocco replacement) is that the Corrado can have a 6 cyl or a factory supercharger. Boo yeah.

Here's my ride:

http://www.webhelp.org/vw/rabbit.html All the pictures suck. Ignore the "Warhol" one on top.

That's before the GTi grill. After the grill is here: http://www.webhelp.org/vw/grillinstalled.jpg This picture sucks too because it's dark and the flowers on the carport take over the picture.

Time to take some decent pictures.

Skaven and johnyGuru:

SWEET.. SWEET Ride....

Skaven: Are those MSW wheels?? 16"? Looks very sweet on the Jetta. The paint looks very nice too.

I like the golf & jetta 2nd gen.
I like the golf 3 (esp. VR6)
and finally 4rth gen Jetta.

I like the corrado and Golf 2 Convertible too.

Love those VWs.

I was thinking of buying a 3rd gen Golf GL (4 door), and engine swap with a VR6. Is this an easy swap?? Should be cool. A 4 door VR6.

Lupin:
Yea, they are MSW. I TOTALLY lucked out and got them for $75@ at tirerack! They are also 16s (as you can see in my mod list). The paint is OEM and original. AFAIK it was never repainted, just well taken care of. It took me months to find the VW I wanted. I'll take some more pics this weekend at Treffen (the midwest VW show).
As for the MK3 Golf VR6 swap, it is possible. But for the money you are going to spend on a donor car, and on the car you want to swap it into... along with any additional costs, you are better off buing a Jetta VR6 (if you want 4door) or the GTI VR6. <shrug> If you want a better swap, get a 1.8t engine in a 4door MK3 Golf... and then chip it! <evil grin> 193hp/238torque... YUMMY

jonnyGURU:
The Rabbit is looking SCHWEET! Now that is a LIGHT car. I'm sure it hauls with the 1.8...
Quick question about the 2.0L and the future turbo-upgrade. Are you going to keep CIS or go with the 2.0L motronic? I'm trying to figure out a way to turbo my 1.8L (or 2.0L block), but the darn Digifant injection is holding me back.. <sigh>

Yea, those Corrado's were some sweet cars. My parents had a Pearl Blue '91 SLC... and it is the reason why I dig VWs. The sound of the VR6 wide open is the closest music to Porsche/Ferrari this side of $50K!

Skaven:
How much can I get VR6 engines for?? If I swap it on a 4 door, then it would be one-of-a-kind in the US.

thirdkind: ouch.

The 2.0 is a bolt on, but it was made for EFI. I will be putting it on a bench and seeing about making my own bushings to accomodate a regular CIS system though. I CAN do the FI exchange, but I don't look forward to rewiring with a whole other harness!

We've done fitment tests and with the 2.0 crossflow head, there is plenty of room for a VW Turbo Diesel exhaut manifold and a turbine off of a Ford or Audi.
