This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

5. Which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?

1. the plane that left paris will always be closer than the plane that left new york until the plane that took off from new york passes the plane from paris. this is assuming they are taking the same path and they are able to "phase" through each other and avoid a collision.

2. 2

3. numbers for her house door. like 86 anystreet is the numbers 8 and 6

4. edit. have both kids go across, 1 back. then one adult across and both kids back. repeat for other parent.

5. weight is the same.

Gold is measured on the Troy weight system which is 12oz/1lbs while feathers are measured on the Avoirdupois weight system which is 16oz/1lbs.

what is unusual about this passage?

"Gatsby was walking back from a visit down in Branton Hill's manufacturing district on a Saturday night. A busy day's traffic had had its noisy run; and with not many folks in sight, His Honor got along without having to stop to grasp a hand, or talk; for a mayor out of City Hall is a shining mark for any politician. And so, coming to Broadway, a booming bass drum and sounds of singing, told of a small Salvation Army unit carrying on amidst Broadway's night shopping crowds. Gatsby, walking towards that group, saw a young girl, back toward him, just finishing a long, soulful oration ... "

There is no letter "E" in that entire paragraph. At first I thought that it was going to contain all the letters of the alphebet a certain number of times or so, until I got to the letter e..
