Is there something wrong with folding@home? I am on our team page at extreme overclocking and absolutely no production has been registered today. I had a WU worth 73K points this midnight, one four hours later at 28K points, and another four later same 28K. So total of three WUs and 129K points today not being accounted for.

I just got back into folding@home after not folding for over two years. Does this happen often and does it get corrected so we get out points/WUs credited? Or is it an error on extreme overclocking's page?

I'm very surprised at the amount of computing power you can have for so cheap nowadays. I used to have 1.2M points before starting 6 days ago and bringing it to 2M. I am getting about 120K PPD with my HD 7950 Boost/R9 280 at 1050MHz and I bought it for a measly $115 on eBay and without getting the fan loud I can keep it under 70C. I'm thinking about buying another and doubling that to 240K PPD.

CPU folding isn't really worth it in bang-for-buck anymore: my 4790K set to use 6 threads is only bringing in 20K PPD, and that costs $350.

I use my laptop now anyways and electricity is included where I'm rented, so I think for at least a few weeks or months I'll leave it running and see what happens. I'm nearing 1M/week with a cheap graphics card and some years ago you couldn't dream of doing that much on a small budget.

It is! I can't even believe it! Since starting folding 24/7 on 07/25 I have amassed up to the last update 960K points, 85% of that coming from my HD 7950. I will finish today on about 1.02M points, with the 7950 giving me 867K points from that tally.

I did the calculations and I'm getting an average of right around 125K-130K PPD from my 7950 at 1050MHz. A 7970 at the same clocks will net you around 140-145K. You'll have to do the price/performance calculation to see if the additional price of the 7970 is worth it. Personally, I'll definitely be slapping on another 7950 when I have the spare money. In only a week I've gone from 1.2M to 2.2M points.
