Okay so I installed the new Nvidia 175.19 drivers and re-ran the test once again.

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2

Memory: 3328 MB

Vantage runs *smooth* ... My CPU score is weak .. wait till i get her over 4Ghz and add a 4870 for a Crossfire-X3 solution in an x48 MB [next week]

look at the world record i saw them hit at Nvision - nearly 30K with GTX280 SLi and a super O/C'd QX9750 - at 5.5Ghz

liquid nitrogen and lots of burned out HW; they just missed the World 3DMark06 record by a few seconds
.. if their rig didn't crash and burn just as it was about to post the new score

That's what I never understand. They get nothing for doing that. Pointless.

the CPU scores are almost identical - 6409 [vs 6421 with x2] but the graphics score is much lower - 8477 [compared to X2's 14198]

Still don't see the point. Sponsor or not...

Then this isn't really my hobby anymore. I moved on to much better and more productive things.

Using the Cat 8.9 beta my score is 7679 up from 7504

Does that score seem kind of low to you? For some reason I get poor performance in alot of games (choppy graphics every three-five seconds for a few miliseconds)..
I've noticed that when running Vantage (and 3dMark 06 for that matter) the CPU-tests seem to run very poor/slow.. Any ideas as to what can be wrong?

For some reason, that seems low or I would expect more...

Rig in Sig gets 23044

I would expect 2x GTX285 to score higher than what you got especially with an i7
